This version of MEGACONNECT supplies you with a Windows based Contact
Management system with Fax, as well as a data modem terminal communications
program, complete with all the most popular file transfer protocols.


GETTING STARTED
=========================================================================

Auto Config
-----------------------

Auto Config Modem Diagnostics will check out your modem and check for
available serial ports and interrupts.	It must be run from your installation
diskette.  Insert your Mega Connect installation diskette in drive A or B.
Type A: or B: and Enter.  At the DOS prompt type MTEST and Enter.

Mega Connect Lite
-----------------------

Start Mega Connect Lite by double-clicking on its icon.  The program
will start and display the password dialog.  Enter SUPER and hit return.

Mega Connect Terminal
-----------------------

All the documentation you need to use MegaConnect Terminal is supplied
in the MegaConnect Terminal Help file.	To access the help file, double-
click on the help icon in the MegaConnect program group.

The first step to using MegaConnect Terminal is to set the port and speed
of your modem.	Run MegaConnect Terminal by double-clicking on its icon
in the MegaConnect program group.  Under the Options menu, select Serial
Port.  Select the port that your modem is set to.

To find out which port your modem is set to, refer to the installation
instructions of your modem.  You set the modem port when you installed
the modem, or elected to accept the factory settings.

After setting the modem port, select Default Settings under the Options
menu.  Most of the settings in the dialog box should be acceptable to
you, but verify the speed of your modem and select the proper speed.

Now you are ready to enter numbers into your phone book.  Enter the
numbers of the on-line services you will use.

Once you numbers are in the phone book, you can access the on-line
services by selecting Select from Phone Book under the Dial menu.


Special note concerning RPI and RPI+ Modems
======================================

WinRPI Ver 2.01 Beta or later is a windows comm driver shell which allows
the comm applications to run the ATi/ATF modems, which have the RPI or 
the RPI+ firmware,  as error correction modems (similar to that of 
ACi/ACF modem).  This driver has been automatically installed on your 
system.

The following AT commands should be issued before calling or answering.  
Select Default Settings under the Options menu.  Enter the appropriate AT
command string below in the "Additional Initialization" field.

For Sevel 1414I-T or Sevel 1414I-VT

RPI+ modem:		AT&C1&D2&K3+H11

For RPI modem:		AT&C1&D2&K3+H3S95=1

The user can determine whether the modem is a RPI or RPI+ modem by typing 
ATi3 and Enter on the terminal screen.

A RPI modem will have the following  string  in its response:
	ROCKWELL  RPI (TM) MODEM

A RPI + modem will have the following response:
	ROCKWELL  RPI (TM) MODEM+

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
