LAN Server 4.0

Introduction:
-------------
This document describes the procedure to install NDIS driver on DOS
LAN Requester and OS/2 LAN server 4.0 for PCMCIA/CT II Ethernet adapter.
Before you start with the installation process, make sure that
the Card Manager software has been successfully installed. For
information on installing the Card Manager software, please refer
to the appropriate readme file, your Ethernet Adapter manual, or
your computer manufacturer.

Location of Driver:  \NDIS\DOS\PCM200.DOS  (for DOS LAN Services)
                     \NDIS\OS2\PCM200.OS2  (for OS/2 LAN Server)

Installing driver procedure on OS/2 LAN Server 4.0:
---------------------------------------------------
   Before you start with the installation process, make sure that
   OS/2 LAN Server  is properly installed.  Similarly, your adapter
   should also be properly installed in your server.

   1. In OS/2 window, Click the "MPTS" icon.

   2. The screen will display the IBM Log, press "OK".

   3. Select "Install" button.

   4. Insert the PCMCIACT II driver diskette, specify the driver
      path A:\NDIS\OS2 and press <Enter>.

   5. When complete above step to load  PCM200.OS2  into OS/2 system,
      then configure your system.

   6. The same step as step 3, select "Configure" button.

   7. The screen will display "Configure" dialog box and select "LAN
      adapters and protocols" then press "configure" button.

   8. The screen will display "LAPS Configuration" dialog box, move
      highlight to "PCMCIA/CT II Ethernet" item in "Network Adapter"
      window, and select "NetBios" protocol. Press "OK".

   9. Installation is complete now. Reset your PC by turning it off
      and on.

Installing driver procedure on OS2 LAN Requester workstation (OS2 WARP):
------------------------------------------------------------------------
   1. Insert the LAN Server CD-ROM or Requester-DISK 1 in the disk.

   2. Start the installation program. In OS/2 window, Click the "INSTALL"
      icon, and press <Enter> continue.

   3. The screen will display the IBM Log, press "OK".

   4. The screen will display "select network Adapter" dialog box,
      select "Other Adapter" and press <Enter> continue.

   5. Insert the PCMCIA/CT II driver diskette, specify the driver
      path A:\NDIS\OS2 and press <Enter>.

   6. When complete above step to load  PCM200.OS2  into OS/2 system,
      then configure your system.

   7. The same step as step 4, the screen will display "select network
      Adapter" dialog box, move highlight to "PCMCIA/CT II Ethernet" item
      and press <Enter> continue.

   8. Installing process, View the default configuration. If this adapter
      is correct, select OK to continue.

   9. When installation is complete now. Reset your PC by turning it off
      and on.

Installing driver procedure on DOS LAN Services :
-------------------------------------------------

   1. Insert the DOS LAN Service diskette 1 into the floppy driver.

   2. Run "INSTALL".

   3. The screen will display "select the type network card" item,
      move highlight to "Network card not show in list below.." and
      press <Enter> continue.

   4. Insert the PCMCIA/CT II driver diskette, specify the driver
      path A:\NDIS\DOS and press <Enter>.

   5. After installing/copying the INF files from the PCMCIA/CT II
      driver diskette, the "PCMCIA/CT II Ethernet" item will appear.

   6. Installing process, highlight the Network card in the " The
      listed options are correct" list box.

   7. View the default configuration. If the default configuration
      is OK, choose <Enter> continue.

   8. The installation of the NDIS 2.01 for IBM DOS Services is now
      complete.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
