Installation Procedures for the Following Networks:

    FTP Software PC/TCP
    NCSA Telnet

*   FTP Software PC/TCP

1.  Install PC/TCP software according to the direction given in the PC/TCP
    manual.

2.  when the installation is complete, copy the file GCS1PD.COM from the
    \PKTDRV subdirectory on your Drivers Disk to the PC/TCP subdirectory 
    specified in the PC/TCP install procedures.

3.  Use an ASCII text editor, add the following lines to your CONFIG.SYS 
    file:
    
	DEVICE = [path]IPCUST.SYS
	DEVICE = [path]IFCUST.SYS

4.  Reboot the PC.

5.  Change to the directory where you PC/TCP files are stored and run 
    GCS1PD.

6.  Run the ETHDRV.EXE kernel program supplied with PC/TCP.

1.  Copy the file GCS1PD.COM from the \PKTDRV subdirectory on your Drivers 
    Disk to the appropriate subdirectory on your hard disk or boot diskette.

2.  Refer to your NCSA Telnet documentation files.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
