INTRODUCTION ============ The ThunderLAN (tm) RPL driver was built from the Texas Instruments Netware DOSODI ThunderLan driver version 1.02 05Mar96 and the Novell Netware RPL Driver Kit found on the Novell LAN Driver Developer's Kit 4.0. The driver files are provided on the ThunderLAN Driver Diskette in the following subdirectories: Directory / Files Contents ------------------------- --------------------------------------------- netware\ rpl\ readme.txt This file rboot.rom Binary of RPL driver rboot.hex Intex Hex format of RPL binary How To Use the RPL Files ======================== The rboot.rom file is a binary file. The rboot.hex file is the Intel Hex (8 bit) format of rboot.rom. Use the rboot.hex file to burn an EPROM for the network card. There are no special dimensions required of the EPROM, it just must be large enough to contain the 16K bytes of the RPL driver. Release Notes ============= This section describes the revision history and known problems/issues with this driver Revision history --------------------------------------------------------------------- Rev 0.02 - 08Oct96 a. Made PCI vendor and device ID's equate constants so it's easier to change them for testing purposes. b. Added PCI Data Struct to ROM header. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
