Dual-Smart 400 Driver Installation for Windows XP (Certified)

This document will assist you in installing the Windows XP certified
drivers for the Dual-Smart 400 camera.

1)   Uninstall uncertified drivers if previously installed (http://www.crystal-digital.com/support_files/support_pages/ds400xpsptrouble.htm).
2)   Double-click on the Setup.Exe file located in this folder.
3)   Follow the installation instruction as shown in the windows.
4)   A folder named "SETUP500" will be created in the "C:\WINDOWS" directory.
5)   After installation is complete attach camera to USB cable and computer.
6)   Drivers should install automatically.
7)   During setup a window may appear asking you to "Install automatically" to "Select a location"
8)   Choose "Select a Location".
9)   From the new window Under the "Search for the best driver in these locations" option.
10)  Uncheck the "Search removable media" option.
11)  Check the "Include this location in the search".
12)  Select the "Browse" button and choose the "C\Windows\Setup500" folder created earlier.
13)  Select "Next".
14)  Follow the onscreen prompts to complete setup.
15)  Repeat steps 7 through 14 for each device.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
