o  Please read 'release.txt' to know the file list and history of the
   package.

o  This readme.txt shows the procedure to update INF file of the ENE
   CB1410 Cardbus Controller for Microsoft Windows XP/2000/ME/98SE.

--------------
For Windows XP
--------------
1.  Select "Start" menu.

2.  Select "Control Panel"

3.  Double click "System" icon.

4.  Click the "Hardware" tab in the "System Properties" window.

5.  Click the "Device Manager" button.

6.  Double click the "PCMCIA Adapters" selection.

7.  Double click the "Generic CardBus Controller".

8.  Click on the "Driver" tab.

9.  Click the "Update Driver..." button.

10. Click the "Next" button of the "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" window.

11. Select the option "Install from a list or specific location [Advanced]"
    and click the "Next" button.

12. Select the option "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
    and click the "Next" button.

13. Click "Have Disk..." button.

14. Click "Browse..." button.

15. Go to the directory where EneCBWXP.inf is located, open it  and click
    the "OK" button.

16. "ENE CARDBUS CONTROLLER" will be shown in the Model list.

17. Click "Next" button to copy files.

18. Click "Finish" button to close the wizard.

19. In the "Device Manager" window, the "Generic CardBus Controller" has
    been updated as "ENE CB1410 CARDBUS CONTROLLER".

For Windows 2000
----------------
1.  Double click "My Computer" icon on the desktop.

2.  Double click "Control Panel" icon.

3.  Double click "System" icon.

4.  Click the "Hardware" tab in the "System Properties" window.

5.  Click the "Device Manager" button.

6.  Double click the "PCMCIA Adapters" selection.

7.  Double click the "Generic CardBus Controller".

8.  Click on the "Driver" tab.

9.  Click the "Update Driver..." button.

10. Click the "Next" button of the "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" window.

11. Select the option "Display a list of the known drivers for this
    device so that I can choose a specific driver" and click the "Next"
    button.

12. Click "Have Disk..." button.

13. Click "Browse..." button.

14. Go to the directory where enecb2k.inf is located, open it and click
    the "OK" button.

15. Select "ENE CB1410 CARDBUS CONTROLLER" from the Models list and click
    the "Next" button.

16. Click the "Yes" button of the "Update Driver Warning" window if it
    appears.

17. Click the "Next" button to copy driver files.

18. Click "Finish" button to close the wizard.

19. Click the "No" button of the "System Settings Change" window to return
    to Windows or click the "Yes" button to restart Windows.

20. In the "Device Manager" window, the "Generic CardBus Controller" has
    been updated as "ENE CB1410 CARDBUS CONTROLLER".

For Windows Me
--------------
1.  Double click "My Computer" icon on the desktop.

2.  Double click "Control Panel" icon.

3.  Double click "System" icon.  If you can not see the "System" icon,
    please click "view all Control Panel options".

4.  Click the "Device Manager" tab in the "System Properties" window.

5.  Double click the "PCMCIA socket" selection.

6.  Double click the "Generic CardBus Controller".

7.  Click on the "Driver" tab.

8.  Click the "Update Driver..." button.

9.  Click the "Next" button of the "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" window.

10. Select "Specify the location of the driver [Advanced]" and click the
    "Next" button.

11. Select "Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so
    you can select the driver you want", and click the "Next" button.

12. Click "Have Disk..." button.

13. Click "Browse..." button.

14. Go to the directory where enecbme.inf is located, open it and click
    the "OK" button.

15. "ENE CB1410 CARDBUS CONTROLLER ..." will be shown in the list.
    Click the "Next" button.

16. Click the "Next" button to copy driver files.

17. Click the "Finish" button.

18. Click the "No" button of the "System Settings Change" window to return
    to Windows or click the "Yes" button to restart Windows.

19. In the "Device Manager" window, the "Generic CardBus Controller" has
    been updated as "ENE CB1410 CARDBUS CONTROLLER".

For Windows 98SE
----------------
1.  Double click "My Computer" icon on the desktop.

2.  Double click "Control Panel" icon.

3.  Double click "System" icon.

4.  Click the "Device Manager" tab in the "System Properties" window.

5.  Double click the "PCMCIA socket" selection.

6.  Double click the "Generic CardBus Controller".

7.  Click on the "Driver" tab.

8.  Click the "Update Driver..." button.

9.  Click the "Next" button of the "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" window.

10. Select the option "Display a list of the known drivers for this
    device so that I can choose a specific driver" and click the "Next"
    button.

11. Click "Have Disk..." button.

12. Click "Browse..." button.

13. Go to the directory where EnE_Cardbus_98.inf is located, open it and
    click the "OK" button.

14. "EnE Tech CB-1410 CardBus Controller" will be shown in the list.
    Click the "Next" button.

15. Click the "Next" button to copy driver files. Please insert the
    Windows 98SE CDROM, if you are requested.

16. Click the "Finish" button.

17. Click the "No" button of the "System Settings Change" window to return
    to Windows or click the "Yes" button to restart Windows.

18. In the "Device Manager" window, the "Generic CardBus Controller" has
    been updated as "EnE Tech CB-1410 CardBus Controller".

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
