WIS GO7007SB SW V2.0.1				2004/07/13


This disc contains the software V2.0.1 (Windows version) for WIS GO7007SB 
multi-format video/audio encoding chip.

1. Important notes
------------------

   * Please install SP4 for Win2000 or SP1 for WinXP

   * Make sure the video and audio cables are both plugged into the reference board
     before capturing in order to guarantee correct video and audio output.

   * In order to decrease the CPU usage for DivX preview, set the "play quality" to 
     "Minimum Quality" in DivX Player. To do this: 
         (1) launch DivX player 
         (2) Move mouse to the video window and right click the mouse button to 
             bring up the context menu 
         (3) Select "Options" item to pop up the "Options" dialog  
         (4) Set the "play quality" to "Minimum Quality" in the "Playback" page.

   * If using a camera board, the AVCapture sample application still doesn't handle 
     audio. Use GraphEdit to insert "WIS GO7007SB" filter from "Audio Capture Sources" 
     category and render audio, should your need be.

   * If burning DVD is required:

     a) Run AVCapture, press "Change Settings" button
     b) Select Stream: "MPEG2, IPB, DVD"
     c) Select Resolution: "NTSC SD"  
     d) Select Bitrate: "Constant 6M" or "Constant 4M"
     e) Click "OK" and capture video.
     f) If Frame Rate: "NTSC 24fps IVTC" is selected, after mpg file is recorded,
        run FileConverter.exe to convert the video to DVD recognizable format. 
        To access the FileConverter tool, click "Start"-> "Programs"-> 
        "WIS Technologies, Inc."-> "WIS GO7007SB SW V2.01"->"Tools" -> "FileConverter".
     g) Use DVD authoring tool to make DVD using the mpg file recorded (or the converted 
        file from step f).


2. Installation Guide
---------------------

For Windows XP users:

        a). Uninstall previous versions of WIS GO7007 SW or WIS GO7007SB SW.
            To do this, go to "Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs" and
            remove "WIS GO7007(SB) SW Vx.x".

        b). Make sure the reference board is NOT connected to your computer when
            you install software. 

        c). Run InterVideoWCreatorSetup\Setup.exe to install InterVideo WinDVD 
            Creator 2.

        d). Run setup.exe file on the CD to install WIS GO7007SB SW V2.01. 
            (Assume installation directory is the default directory: 
            "C:\Program Files\")

        e). After software installation is completed, connect reference board to 
            USB port of the host computer.

        f). A "Found New Hardware Wizard" will appear. Please select "Install from 
            a list or specific location (Advanced)". Click "Next". 

        g). Please select "Search for the best driver in these locations" and 
            "Include this location in the search". Deselect "Search removable media 
            (floppy, CD-ROM...). 

            Click "Browse" button to specify the following location:
            
            C:\Program Files\WIS Technologies, Inc\WIS GO7007SB SW V2.01\DriverInstall\
            Then click "Next". 

        h). When a warning dialogue appears saying the software has not passed 
            Windows Logo testing, click "Continue Anyway" to continue.

        i). Click "Finish" to complete this installation. 

        j). If "Found New Hardware Wizard" appears again, repeat steps f) - i).

        l). To verify if the hardware is installed successfully, go to "Control 
            Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Sound, video and game 
            controllers" category. A device "WIS GO7007SB A/V Capture" will appear.

For Windows 2000 users:

        a). Uninstall previous versions of WIS GO7007 SDK or WIS GO7007SB SDK.
            To do this, go to "Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs" and
            remove "WIS GO7007(SB) SW Vxxx".

        b). Make sure the reference board is not connected to your computer when 
            you install software. 

        c). Run InterVideoWCreatorSetup\Setup.exe to install InterVideo WinDVD 
            Creator 2.

        d). Run setup.exe file on the CD to install WIS GO7007SB SW V2.01. 
            (Assume installation directory is the default directory: 
            "C:\Program Files\")

        e). After software installation is completed, connect reference board to 
            USB port of the host computer.

        f). A "Found New Hardware Wizard" will appear. Click "Next". 

        g). Please select "Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)"
            and click "Next". 

        h). Please select "Specify a location" and deselect other options. Click 
            "Next".

        i). Click "Browse" button to specify the following location:
            
            C:\Program Files\WIS Technologies, Inc\WIS GO7007SB SW V2.01\DriverInstall\
            Click "OK". 

        j). The "Driver Files Search Result" will show that Windows found a driver 
            in the location you specified. Click "Next".

        k). Click "Finish" to complete this installation. 

        l). If "Found New Hardware Wizard" appears again, repeat steps f) - k).

        m). To verify if the hardware is installed successfully, go to "Control 
            Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Sound, video and game 
            controllers" category. A device "WIS GO7007SB A/V Capture" will appear.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
