Meter is a sample program collecting meter like values from one of the
PARxCH 24 bit A/D boards.

The program collects data as soon as it is ready from the board. In
order to achieved a slow sampling rate while still maintaining good
resolution, meter samples at an actual rate of 50Hz and averages 50
successive samples to achieve an effective 1Hz sampling rate.

Optionally the program can display counts or volts. The volts
display involves a conversion that must be calibrated. Refer to the
source code comments for more details.

Once the system is powered up and running, simply run meter from the
command line and data will appear from all analog channels at a 1Hz
rate.

If you have any trouble getting the program to start, run the
standard diagnostic program in the diags directory to determine which
parallel port modes your PC supports. You can then run meter again
including a supported mode on the command line as the optional second
argument. If you need to change the parallel port address, you must
edit and then recompile meter.c. See the makefile for how to build it.
