FILE: readme.txt Copyright (c), Symmetric Research 2003 The process program in this directory gives an example of how to run "downstream" processing on data while it is being acquired by the PARxCH. The idea is that either the simp or scope programs would be running as one task in the background or in one window creating .out data files. Then a second program called process would be running in the foreground or in a second window looking for a .out file and running some processing when it appears. In the example here, process runs a simple threshold detector, and renames the simp.out file if it is exceeded. You could add any other operations you want to the process program so it performs tasks appropriate for your application. To run the program by hand, first start simp in the background or in one window, saving data to the single simp.out file. Then in the foreground or in a second window start process with the appropriate command line arguments. Run process with no command line arguments for a help screen. When using Win95, make sure the window properties are set correctly before running each program in its own DOS window. You will want to UNCHECK the "Background always suspend" item on the MISC tab of the Win 95 properties dialog. Unchecking this item allows the window to continue executing even when it is in the background. To make running the first time easy, we have set up a demo batch or script file. It automatically starts the windows and programs with proper settings. For Win95, the .pif files have the properties and command lines for their respective windows. The simple threshold detector demonstrated here is appropriate for a wide variety of applications. However, we encourage you to modify this code as appropriate for your processing requirements.Download Driver Pack
