                          Quick Setup Information

Note: This configuration has Autocad set to plot to file, then the plotfile
is the name of the port the plotter is attached to. The plot data will still
go straight to the plotter and not a plotfile. This is done to allow Dos to
handle the port communications. We have found this to the most reliable way of
communicating on all PC's with Windows 3.1. Windows 95 this usually is not necessary
and you may select the port during configuration in Autocad and skip the
plot to file. Autocad 12/13 in NT (sometimes Windows 95) will require Autospooling to
communicate to your port. Autodesk has instructions for setting this up on their web
page and also have a fax document 759. The Calcomp step by step procedures also
contain an autospooling setup. Check at end of page for info on where to get them.
