IMPORTANT NOTICE:
If you are downgrading to a firmware version older than V5.04,
the configuration will be reset to its default values.
With the ComPoint Manager (CPM) you may save the current
configuration before upgrading.

If you are upgrading from firmware version V4.20 or V4.22,
please check the WEP encryption status!
If you had enabled WEP encryption with firmware version V4.20 or V4.22,
then you will have to enable WEP encryption again.

Security
- [Fw604001]:
With WPA enabled, a wireless client association could sometimes
fail under certain circumstances.

Restrictions and known problems

Wireless
- Due to 5 GHz dynamic frequency selection (DFS) requirements, a
ComPoint with multi-point bridging (multiple links on one radio
module) must have a numerically higher address (MAC address of
bridging radio module) than any connected link partner.
- Depending on available memory, no more than about 20 service sets
per ComPoint can be utilized.
- When first setting up a bridge link, and then changing the band,
the bridge link will no longer work until the ComPoint is restarted.
- With Windows CE 4.2 client and WPA privacy, reassociation (roaming)
doesn’t work. Instead, after some retries, the client falls back
to standard association, causing a significant period
of connection loss.

SNMP
- The UI now only shows the relevant USM user security menu entries
depending on the security level specified.
- Defined and implemented SNMPv1 specific trap numbers
to identify SNMPv1 enterprise traps by an unique number.
All supported enterprise numbers are summarized
in file SNMP/SNMPv1-traps.txt.
With SNMPv2/v3 traps such specific numbers are no longer needed.

Bugfixes

SNMP
- [Fw602001]:
It was allowed by mistake to save inconsistent USM user security
parameters. As a result either the ComPoint crashed immediately or
the USM user entries could have wrong values after reboot.

Restrictions and known problems

Wireless

Changes and improvements

General
- Support for the funkwerk dual-band enterprise products
W1002 and W2002 added.
- Updated syslog client implementation to meet
RFC 3164 - The BSD Syslog Protocol.
Now the "PRI Part" is always included, the "Header Part"
always omitted. The "Message Part" no longer includes the
priority string tag.

Wireless
- Now AP supports distinct MAC addresses, beacons, and information
elements per service set. This feature solves two issues from the
"Restrictions and known problems" section of V5.11:
- With an Agere-based client card (Hermes-1/2 chipset),
it was not possible to associate to a non-WPA service set
on an AP which had other service sets with WPA enabled.
- If more than one service set was configured for a radio, those
service sets were not always shown up in Windows XP's
wireless network list.
- Radio is completely disabled if all service sets of an AP
are disabled.
- Disabled traffic-dependent 5 GHz channel availability check
after 12 hours. The forced check after 24 hours is still
active (as required by EN301893).
- Disabled unnecessary 5 GHz radar detection on bridge slaves.
- All 802.11 authentication and association attempts are now
rejected if bridge is "locked".
- Transmitting the SSID in beacons is now always hidden
if no service sets are defined (e.g. locked bridge links).

Security
- For WPA2 privacy, AES-CCMP group keys are used if "WPA2_only"
operation is selected. With WPA2/WPA mixed mode and "WPA only",
TKIP group keys are used as before.
- Adjusted EAPOL-key retransmit timeout according to IEEE802.11i.
- WEP privacy: added optional shared key authentication according
to IEEE802.11.
- RADIUS attribute "Called-Station-Id" now has SSID appended,
as defined in RFC3580.
- Adjusted contents of "Connect-Info" RADIUS attribute according
to RFC3580.

SNMP
- IEEE802dot11-MIB: Support for several dot11RSNA** statistics
variables added.
- ARTEM-COMPOINT-WLAN-MIB: Changed MAX-ACCESS for SNMP variable
"artemRadioWwrMode" from "read-write" to "read-only".

DHCP
- Ignore illegal options in ACK, NAK, and OFFER replies
from DHCP servers that do not meet the standard.

UI
- SNTP: current date and current time is now manually settable.
- RADIUS accounting: communication with RADIUS server now uses
the new menu entry "Acct secret" for accounting and the menu
entry "Auth secret" for authentication.
Note: after upgrading from previous versions, users are required
to enter the correct "Acct secret" in order to use accounting!
- Wireless extensions: added new submenu "MAC settings" to
Config/Ports/wl_***/Extended menu, with the following configurable
items: Beacon Period, Long Retries, Short Retries,
Tx LifeTime, Rx LifeTime.
- Now SSH and SecWeb (HTTPS) are disabled per configuration default.

- [Fw511007]:
Power loss during system startup could cause a configuration reset.
- [Fw515003]: (802.11g ComPoints on HW version 7.0 only)
With firmware versions >= V5.11 it was not possible to downgrade
to firmware versions V4.x.
- [Fw518001]:
A potential deadlock situation with syslog messages and SNMP
traps sometimes caused ComPoint to crash.
- [Fw518002]: (not first-generation ComPoint products)
Internal time (uptime) lagged about 20 minutes per day.

The ComPoint's time was highly out of sync with the NTP time.

Wireless
- [Fw511002]: (802.11b ComPoints only)
Bridge auto configuration was not possible.
- [Fw511003]:
Beacon rate stayed at minimum (32s) if locked bridge link

Beacon period could not be changed.
- [Fw513005]:
Certain combinations of more than two enabled service sets with
different security modes including WPA-PSK, prevent clients from
associating to WPA-PSK service sets.
- [Fw514003]:
Association and reassociation messages were not logged to the
console (and optionally to the syslog daemon) if privacy is "none".
- [Fw515002]: (Wx000 only)
While a configured 5GHz bridge is busy scanning channels to find
partner, the ComPoint of the bridge slave crashed when a firmware
update was attempted.
- [Fw516001]:
Any client with power-save enabled blocked the entire radio,
and no more frames could be transmitted on any service set
until next reboot.
- [Fw517001]:
Sequence numbers were not adjusted for AES encryption, causing
permanent loss of connection after temporary link interruption.
- [Fw517002]:
Switching a bridge link to LOCKED state caused the associatied
radio module to be disabled and no data transfer was possible
in that state.
- [Fw519004]:
Under some circumstances, a 5GHz bridge link was not restored
after band scan was finished.

Under certain circumstances, wireless card firmware hung,
causing the watchdog to reboot the device.

Transmission of broadcast/multicast frames to Intel 2200/2915
client in powersave mode was unreliable.

ComPoint sporadically rebooted under certain WLAN load conditions.

Security
- [Fw511004]:
EAPOL-key frames received with incorrect replay counter caused
a reject of the wireless client. According to IEEE802.11i,
those frames shall be silently ignored.
- [Fw513004]:
EAPOL-START frames from client were not ignored in WPA-PSK mode.
- [Fw515001]:
RADIUS attribute "Acct-Delay-Time" contained wrong values
during authentication.
- [Fw519001]:
With WPA/WPA2 retransmission of EAPOL-key frame #3 didn't work.
- [Fw520003]:
After connecting WPA manager to the ComPoint's WPA Agent,
there was a high probability that the ComPoint crashes everytime
a client associates or disassociates, if both WPA and accounting
are enabled.

DHCP
- [Fw511006]:
Sometimes the DHCP client did not renew the lease
if the lease has been expired.

VLAN
- [Fw511005]:
Wireless repeating on an AP was not possible if VLAN has been enabled.

SNMP
- [Fw511001]:
ARTEM-COMPOINT-WLAN-MIB: reading and writing of OID
artemAPServiceSetAdminStatus didn't work.
- [Fw513001]:
ARTEM-COMPOINT-WLAN-MIB: setting OID artemRadioWwrMode didn't work.
- [Fw513003]:
Changing SNMP configuration parameters caused ComPoint to crash.
- [Fw514002]:
ARTEM-COMPOINT-BLD-MIB: getting OID artemBLDTargetIf displayed
undefined value.
- [Fw519003]:
Q-BRIDGE-MIB: setting OID dot1qPortAcceptableFrameTypes and
OID dot1qPortIngressFiltering didn't work.
- [Fw520002]:
Setting SNMP-V3 USM user authentication and encryption alogorithms
with corresponding passwords was not possible, beacause the menu
entry "Security" wasn't accessible in Telnet/SSH/Web/SecWeb.
The menu entry "Security" was spuriously replaced with the
"Acct secret" entry from EAP.

UI

Control/Security/Authenticate/EAP/Advanced menu:
Changing the PMK lifetime value failed.

- Major redesign of WPA2/RSN/IEEE802.11i wireless security engine
significally improves interoperability with various clients
and different supplicants.
- WPA2/RSN preauthentication support added.
- New wireless security mode "WPA-only" added for AccessPoints
to support interoperability with some older wireless clients
having problems to communicate properly if WPA mixed mode
(WPA and WPA2) is used. The user interface has changed accordingly.
- Added support for WPA reauthentication from wireless client.

Wireless
- Channel setting "AUTO_DFS" has been removed for 2.4 GHz bridges since
it caused loss of bridge connectivity after restart of any endpoint.
- Regulatory domain configuration: selecting "anywhere" for "Usage area"
now only enables channels which are allowed for both indoor and
outdoor usage.
- Updated Austria 5GHz channels according to recent regulatory changes.
- Added console message on 5 GHz radar detection.

The browser will no longer complain about a certificate signed
by an unknown certificate authority and host name mismatch,
as soon as the certificate (see login page) is installed.

The SSL certificate's serial number was not unique. Some Web browsers

Restrictions and known problems

Wireless
- With an Agere-based client card (Hermes-1/2 chipset),
it is not possible to associate to a non-WPA service set
on an AP which has other service sets with WPA enabled.
- Depending on available memory, no more than about 20 service sets
per ComPoint can be utilized.
- When first setting up a bridge link, and then changing the band,
the bridge link will no longer work until the ComPoint is restarted.
- With Windows CE 4.2 client and WPA privacy, reassociation (roaming)
doesn’t work. Instead, after some retries, the client falls back
to standard association, causing a significant period
of connection loss.
- If more than one service set is configured for a radio, those
service sets will not always show up in Windows XP's wireless
network list. In order to join one of those service sets,
manual configuration has to be used.

- Updated list of allowed 2.4GHz channels for France - according to
recent regulatory changes, now all channels 1..13 are allowed.

Now power can be selected from list (as before),
or entered directly, e.g. "13mW" or "6dBm".
For directly entered values, the used value may differ
from the entered one due to rounding effects.

DHCP
- Now a configured DHCP client identifier is sent with DHCP requests.
But: changing the client ID only takes effect after rebooting the device.

UI
- SSH: now the required RSA and DSA keys are product specific.
If SSH is enabled, then both keys are generated automatically after
configuration reset or uploading a configuration from another device.
Computing the keys may take up to two minutes, depending on the hardware.

- Support for the new products "artem W1000/W2000/W3000" added.
- Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) client added (UI: Control/SNTP).

- New SNMP agent integrated with full support of versions 1, 2, 3,
the USM user model as well as VACM views.
- Status LEDs for AP, BR, and BR2 mode are now turned off if port is
closed or failed to open.

Wireless
- Added SNMP support for the IEEE802dot11 MIB.
- Added multiple Service Set support.
Via the menu "Config/Ports/wlX_ap/Service sets" it is possible to add,
remove and modify so called "Service Sets". A Service Set is a virtual
Access Point which clients can associate to and exchange data with in
the usual manner.
For each radio module, up to 16 service sets can be created.
The menu item "Add SSID" automatically disappears if no more
service sets can be added.
The last service set cannot be removed, therefore always at least
one service set per radio module must be present.
The RF settings (e.g. channel) affects each service set attached
to the radio module.
The "Network name" (aka SSID) can be selected independently for each service set.
The privacy settings can be selected independently for each service set.
Additional independent settings for each service set include
VLAN, BLD und filtering.
Wireless visibility ("Bcst SSID") can be configured individually for each service set.
However, no SSID is broadcasted in the 802.11 beacons if there is more than one
active service set. The service sets with visibility enabled "Bcst SSID = enabled"
do reply to 802.11 probe requests with SSID = "ANY" and are therefore openly visible.
For channel selection (Config/Ports/wlX_ap/RF_settings/channel), there is a new value
"Auto DFS". When "Auto DFS" is selected, the AP automatically scans the band on
initialization and selects one of the channels with least activity.
- Removed problems with high ping latency, and very low data transfer
rates over cascaded AP/Bridges.
- Regulatory Information for the 4.9-5.9 GHz Band updated.
- Now the regulatory domain configurations are placed in a separate
sub menu in Config/System.
- The selectable regulatory domain countries depend on
the supported certificates flashed into the wireless cards.
- Added a view of the complete list of supported regulatory domain countries.
- Enabled link finder (automatic master/slave DFS channel adaption)
for 5GHz bridge links.

Security
- Added accounting support according to RFC2866.
The accounting menu is active only if WPA is enabled.
The accounting information is sent to the server specified as authentication server.
No client can associate if accounting is enabled and the accounting server is unreachable.
- The real user name is also transmitted to the accounting server (Radius)
if accounting is enabled. In WPA PSK mode the client's MAC address will be
transmitted in the Radius user name attribute.
- The menu items "Reauth switch" and "Reauth period" in Control/Security/Authenticate/EAP/Advanced
control broadcast key roll-over if WPA is enabled. In pure IEEE802.1x mode (WPA disabled)
full reauthentication is utilized.
- WPA: added optional AES-CCMP encryption for pairwise keys. For group keys the strongest security is TKIP.
- Added WPA2 support and mixed operation of WPA2- and WPA-capable clients.
- WPA mixed mode now also runs with Microsoft SP1 and SP2 clients.
Microsoft currently doesn't support WPA2 but offers AES-CCMP for
pairwise keys which is not a valid Wi-Fi combination.
So the pairwise cipher suite is forced to TKIP if AES-CCMP
is selected in Microsoft supplicants.

Filtering
- Changed the semantics of the "WL admin" feature accessible
in the Config/Security menu. Now only access point ports
are excluded from the set of ports over which communication
is allowed with the local IP stack.

UI
- Secure Web server (HTTPS/SSL) added.
"UI control" menu added to Control/Security
to enable/disable Web (HTTP) and Secure Web (HTTPS/TLS).
- SSH daemon added to support secure telnet user interface.
Menu entry added to Control/Security/UI control to enable/disable SSH,
and to enable/disable Telnet.
- WPA agent added for monitoring WPA state transitions and diagnostics
via a special tool. This service is disabled by default and may be
activated in the Control/Security/UI control menu.

IMPORTANT!
The ComPoint's factory default setting of DHCP has been changed
from "disabled" to "enabled". That means: resetting the configuration
forces a DHCP discovery on system restart.
You may change this behaviour by manually disabling DHCP.

Changes and improvements

New:

Multipoint Bridge
- For each wireless card configured as bridge, now up
to 6 links to different bridge partners can be configured.
The default names for bridges now are made like "wl1br1",
"wl1br2", with a unique number for each bridge link. There
is always at least 1 link for each bridge, i.e. the last
bridge link on a card cannot be removed.
- In Telnet menus, things had to be rearranged in order to allow
individual configuration of multiple links. The values for "DS channel",
"Speed mode", "Encapsulation" and the WEP settings are common for every
bridge link on the same card.
- User interface: For easier identification of bridge links,
user-defined alias names can be assigned to every bridge link.
The following restrictions apply to those alias names:
+ each name must be unique in the system, i.e. you cannot use
a name that matches another port's name.
+ The name must start with a alphabetic character.
+ The name may not be longer than 13 characters.
+ The name may not contain white space (" ") or non-printable characters.
- User interface: "Status summary" now shows a detailed list of every
configured bridge link, including signal strength information.

MAC filter
- The former MAC multicast filter has been extended to
a general MAC filter.
- The default rule (src=any - dst=any - ports=all) always present
in previous versions is no longer displayed explicitly.
- The access to the ComPoint configuration can be restricted
to certain ports (default: all)
Example: the rule (src=local - dst=any - ports=eth1)
allows configuration access only via the Ethernet port.

Telnet user interface
- Made Telnet Navigation easier: The system now remembers the current
menu item and brings you back to the same item when going "back".
- Added forced closing of Telnet session after 3 consecutive invalid
password entries in order to defeat brute force attacks.
- Compoint detects when the telnet client is in local echo mode and
issues a warning message.
- Improved user feedback by visible password entry with "*".

Wireless
- In Access Point port statistics, a name is displayed for every client
if name is available, i.e. clients works with ComCard.
- For Bridge and Double Bridge, an automatic link check is now done
every 5 minutes. If there is no reply for 2 consecutive checks,
the bridge link status LED changes from steady light to blinking.
- Bridge status LEDs now changes from blinking to steady light
immediately after successful auto configuration.
- For Bridge and Double Bridge, Link Test is now possible without
disruption of bridge operation. As a consequence, there is no more
need (and no possibility) to enable/disable Link Test.
The "Link partner" menu item is no longer necessary for Link Test and has
been removed.
- Double Bridge port name has been changed from wl0_brx to wl1_brx.
- Aironet UC/MC support is considered obsolete and has been removed.
- Enhanced Roaming notifications, solving possible problems on switched networks.
- If opening a wireless port fails during ComPoint startup due to some
misconfiguration, the ComPoint no longer crashes but starts without
opening the offending port, giving the opportunity to correct
configuration via telnet.

WEP
- WEP keys are now displayed as "*****" or "*************", depending
on the length of the key entered (40 vs. 128 bit WEP encryption).
- WEP keys with embedded 0x00 bytes are now fully supported.
- WEP no longer gets disabled after performing a remote bridge
configuration.
- If there are unconfigured or disabled bridge links on a card, WEP is
disabled for that card on power-up. This is in order to allow remote
configuration of unconfigured bridge links. An entry in the system
log is written when WEP has been turned off for any port.

DHCP configuration
- Factory default has been changed to DHCP "enabled" state.
- DHCP gets disabled if user manually enters IP address configuration
via the user interface or the CPM. The user also can disable or
enable DHCP via Menu "DHCP->Status[enable/disable]".
- If user disables DHCP, the lease will be released and the
current static IP configuration is used. If a lease request fails the
static IP configuration is also used.
- The DHCP fallback IP address has been removed.
Now the static IP configuration is used instead.
- DHCP startup command has been removed.
Now the user can disable/enable DHCP using the "Status" command
in the DHCP menu.
- "DHCP options" menu has been renamed to "DHCP".

Authentication
- If the interface configuration changes, either explicitly
via an user interface command, or implicitly via DHCP, then
the enabled authentication clients (ACL and/or I802.1x)
now reopen their server connection automatically.

Ethernet Autonegotiation
- Now negotiation always takes place if the link partner supports it.
Manual setting of the link speed and duplex mode is possible only
if "Auto neg mode" is switched to "disabled".

Telnet User Interface
- The label "System reset" has been renamed to "Restart" in the "Control" menu.
- The label "Reset to FD" has been renamed to "Config reset" in the "Control" menu.

- ACL remote startup problem fixed.
- Removal of WL clients does not work properly.
- Disabling or enabling ACL remote does not flush the ACL cache.
These bugs are fixed in the current release.

Bugfix: Wireless
- No "moved " log messages were generated by internal roaming
(e.g. client moved from wl1_ap to wl2_ap).
- User cannot srcoll through node table.
These bugs are fixed in the current release.

Bugfix: Bridge configuration
- Link test does not work with WEP enabled.
- Under certain circumstances, ComPoint could crash during switching
bridge link test on/off.
- After link test, status LED of the initiating bridge/double bridge
didn't resume continous light after re-enabling bridge,
instead continued blinking.
- For remote config and link test, it was possible to enter MAC address
of own ComPoint.
These bugs are fixed in the current release.

Bugfix: DoubleBridge
- Data rate (speed) of double bridge is shown incorrectly (11 instead of 22).
This bug is fixed in the current release.

Bugfix: DHCP
- ALthough DHCP is disabled the CP may accept a lease from a W2k DHCP
server.
This bug is fixed in the current release.

Bugfix: Flash/Configuration data
- There might be versions conflicts regarding the configuration data
if user up-/downgrades the firmware.
This bug is fixed in the current release.

Change: Security ACL
- Cache synchronization improved.
- Remote/local synchronization improved.
- Changing the SSID forces remote entries to get removed from the
authentication cache.
- Client entries with access right == AR_Denied will time out and get
removed from the authentication cache, if the synchronisation
timer expires.
- Interoperation with an ACL remote server is more tolerant and more robust,
if the server is unreachable or the ACL service is unavailable.

Change: Wirless configuration
- ComPoint XT2 starts with one access point port and one bridge port.
- Factory default for multicast rate is now 2 MBit/s.
- The factory default channels are changed:
internal slot (wl1) is 6, external slot (wl2) is 11.
- Switching from a bridge to an access point port while runtime starts
an access point with factory default if there is no configuration of
a access point port stored. Hence, the repeating mode of a
new dynamically created access points is also enabled.

Change: DoubleBridge
- Switching between a double bridge port and an access point
or bridge port does not force a reboot anymore.

Change: Access point
- Improved log entries for access point messages:
"Node xxxxx-xxxxx associated"-messages are now preceeded by the port name.

Change: User interface
- A major revision of the user interface was made. The menu and parameter
names are more user friendly and comprehensible.

- The configuration of the multicast filter is set to
factory default, if the user downgrades to any version less than 3.0.

Bugfix: Configuration
The ComPoint Manager (CPM) did not always discover
a ComPoint, if the IP address is "0.0.0.0".
This bug is fixed in the current release.
Note: This applies not, if a router is between
the ComPoint and the host running the CPM.

Security leaks regarding the access rights
to alter a ComPoint's configuration eliminated.

New: Configuration
New handling for simultaneous telnet/Web sessions implemented.
Note: If four Web/telnet sessions are already running,
and a new Web/telnet session request is pending,
this request can be granted only,
if one of the already running Web sessions
has been inactive for at least five minutes.
Note: Only one Web session per host is possible.

Change: Password configuration
Passwords with non-printable characters are ignored.

Change: Ethernet configuration
Manual Ethernet configuration corrected/improved.
The specified values such as autonegotiation,
speed, and mode are checked for consistency and
remain valid after rebooting the ComPoint.
Note:
- If at the ComPoint and at the connected device
autonegotiation is disabled, it's important to
set the speed mode on both devices to the same value.
If the modes are different, bad performance
or even no communication might occure.
- If one of the connected devices is not capable
of autonegotiation, the second device will use
the speed of the other device and will use
half-duplex mode.
Note: If at the device the ComPoint is connected to,
autonegotiation is enabled and disabled at the
ComPoint, the connected device might have problems
to recognize the desired speed and mode automatically.

New: Ethernet
Bridging of Ethernet frames up to 1536 bytes supported.
So VLAN frames are no longer discarded.

Bugfix: SNMP
Some of the system group values couldn't be changed.
MAC addresses in the ARP table couldn't be changed.
The ComPoint might crash on retrieving the ARP table.
These bugs are fixed in the current release.

New: TCP/IP stack
Generation of UDP checksums implemented.

Change: Filtering
- Filtering in general improved.
- Now IP multicast filtering is supported.
- If entering a rule's multicast address,
then all 6 bytes of the MAC address must be specified.

Bugfix: Access Point
Displayed values in the data rate statistics
of the node table have not always been correct.
This bug is fixed in the current release.

Bugfix: DoubleBridge
After rebooting the ComPoint, the link speed
sometimes dropped down to 1 Mbit.
This bug is fixed in the current release.

Change: Bridge configuration
- Bridge and DoubleBridge configuration imporved in general.
- Link test for Bridge and DoubleBridge added.
- WEP parameters are also configurable via remote configuration.
- Consistency check of the remote MAC address improved.
- Improved robustness against loss of configuration packets.
The remote bridge remains in "allowed" mode,
in case of a configuration failure.
- "DS_Channel" is now configurable via the "BridgePort" menu.
- Bridge management frames are now sent with 1 MBit data rate.
Note: Please upgrade the firmware on both Bridge/DoubleBridge
ComPoints, in particular before executing a remote configuration.

Change: DHCP client
- The DHCP client of the ComPoint supports DHCP Servers of
following Operating Systems:
Novell 4.11, Win2k, OS/2 2.4.5 (DHCP ver. 4.1),
Linux Kernel 2.2x (DHCP ver. 3), WinNT 4.0.
- Excluded settings of DHCP options in the DHCP menu. Options
1 and 3 (router and mask) are always requested, so a manual
configuration is not necessary. Other options are still
not available.
- There is only one fallback IP address which is used if DHCP at
startup fails and/or if a DHCP failed while renewing or rebinding
a lease.
- Status indication of a DHCP lease is improved:
DHCP_Options menu command lease:
Lease [none] : dhcp startup is disabled.
Lease [failure]: requesting a lease failed.
Lease [in use] : lease request succeded.
Summary view:
dhcp disabled : dhcp startup is disabled.
dhcp enabled : dhcp startup is enabled, but no lease.
dhcp failure : dhcp is enabled, but lease request failed.
dhcp in use : dhcp startup is enabled, lease request succeded.
- Use of fallback IP address if lease request failed:
DHCP startup is disabled and user triggers manual request: the
stored interface configuration is used, not the fallback IP address.
DHCP startup is enabled: the given fallback IP address is used.

Change: ACL local - User Interface
Removal of local ACL table entries improved:
Now the value "all" or one of the first 8
entries may be selected from the list.
If there are more than 8 entries at the table,
the 8th entry shows "uncompleted".
Unshown MAC addresses must be entered manually
at the prompt to get removed.

Change: ACL local - User Interface
MAC addresses (Edit/Remove) may now be
entered without seperators. This functionality is
generalized now and no longer specific to a module.

Change: ACL remote
ACL cache synchronization improved if the status
of the ACL server connection changes.
The connectivity-check to the remote ACL server
is improved in general.

New features

Protocol Filter
This firmware includes protocol filter. The menu for filter configuration is found at
the menu config>Filtering. A list of 30 protocols can be build. The filtered protocols
can be forwarded (bypassing the multicast filter), forwarded through multicast
filter (and be processed there) or discarded. A default rule specifies the action
for all protocols not listed, either forward, procMcstFlt or discard. Protocols are
identified by their protocol numbers used in dix-ethernet or SNAP headers (see RFC 1700).
Some protocols and protocol suites (for example "INET" including ARP and IP) have been
predefined.

Remote Config for Bridge and Double Bridge
A remote config option was added to the menu of Bridge Ports (config>Ports>Port_wlx_brX).
This option enables configuration of a bridge link to be done from one side. If a bridge
boots with bridge port disabled, this port is set to "remote config allowed". From
the other bridge, remote config can be performed after input of the RemoteMAC, which
is the MAC of the ethernet port (starting with 00:01:CD) of its remote bridge (the one
set to "remote config allowed").

ARPProcessing
The option ARPProcessing was added to filter menu. ARPProcessing replaces IPProcessing.
(The option DetermineIP of the former IPProcessing ist now always set.)
If ARPProcessing is ON, ARP Packets from or to wireless clients associated to any Access
Point port of the ComPoint will be forwarded as unicast to the specific client.
ARP-Requests to all other nodes will be filtered out at any Access Point port.

Changes and Imporvements

Change: The values of signal strength have been corrected.

Change: Port names have been corrected:

Bugfix: DoubleBridge (BR-2) did not transmit 802.2-LLC frames correctly. This
could prevent NetBIOS/NetBEUI and IPX-Packets from being transmitted.

Bugfix: DHCP did not work correctly with DHCP servers of some vendors.
This bug is fixed in the current release (see change notifications).

Bugfix: configuration changes made at remote config have not been stored automaticaly.
This bug is fixed in the current release.

Bugfix: All through config menues, it could have happend, that valid arguments entered
at prompt had not been accepted.
This bug is fixed in the current release.

Known Problems
Remote Config sometimes fails configurating the bridge which initiated the remote
configuration, also the remote bridge was configured correctly. This causes the remote
bridge to switch to Link enable, whereas the other side remains unconfigured. No Link
can be established at this state. Remote config can only be performed again, if
the remote bridge is set to remote config allowed again.
Options: 1. set remote bridge to remote config allowed again.
2. enter the MAC adresses of RemoteCard1 and RemoteCard2 at the local bridge
manually and enable the bridge link.
This problem will be solved within the next release.

Reset Button
The Reset Button (Hardware dependend) has been changed to new function:
If the button is pressed while power up, CP will halt in Monitor state.
This enables basic settings to change and firmware upgrade.
There is no wireless function at this state!
The device will return to normal operation after performing a Reboot.
