This diskette contains Windows 2000 32bit drivers for all PCI dunord products.
Dunord does not support the I2000 under Windows 2000.
/-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/
There is a problem under Windows NT and Windows 2000 with the scanner driver
when it requires some memory. A message that it cannot fix memory is displayed.
This is caused by a user not having some special privileges that is normally
available only to the administrator.
The new memory management scheme for large memory handling has introduced this
requirement.
User privileges must be set manually by the system administrator.
The procedure to set the proper privileges is explained below.
/-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/
The diskette has 3 directories, the main one for the base drivers,
and DSIISIS for ISIS 32 bit drivers and TWAIN17 for TWAIN drivers.
Use the file dunord2k.inf for all Dunord interfaces.
Please note that the files used are the same for NT and Win 95/98,
except for the kernel. For Win 20000, the kernel is named dunord2k.sys,
for NT, it is named dunord.sys
and for Win95/98, it is named dunord.vxd.

Windows 2000
/--------------------------------------------------/
The Dunord Scanner Interface Driver Disk for Windows 2000
includes the following files:
Readme2kxt This file
dunord2k.inf PCI Intallation file
Dunord2k.sys Kernel Mode driver for Win NT
Dunord.ini Configuration setting file
Dunordsi.dll Main scanner interface
dsiextra.dll supplementary driver file
pdflib.dll driver file to enable pdf support
Dundlg.hlp Help file called from dialog box
/--------------------------------------------------/
Dunordsi.dll, the main dunord scanner driver will connect to the
proper kernel, according to Operating System used.
Dunordsi.dll, dsiextra.dll, pdflib.dll, dundlg.hlp and dunord.ini
will be placed in the appropriate windows and/or windows\system directory.
On a dual boot machine, it is possible to use the same copy of these
files if they are placed in a directory that is in the path.
Care must be taken on updates as updated files are usually reinstalled
in the original windows, windows/system location.
Installing the I-3000 series PCI interface
IMPORTANT:
Make sure that you have logged on by administrator or you have administrator right to
install the driver. Otherwise the installation will fail.
To install a PCI interface, right click on dunord2k.inf
and choose INSTALL
This will install Dunord2k.sys and others files in appropriate
directories then update the registry.
Once installation is finished, a message box appears to ask you
to reboot the computer.
The following procedure sets up user rights. It can be done at any time
but it could be done at this time, before the reboot.
/-------------------------------------------------------------------/
Logon as Administrator ( if you are not in this mode )
Follow this tree:
Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Local Security Policy
Local Policies
User Rights Assignments
Double Click on : Increase Scheduling priority
Click Add:
add groups or user that have the rights to use the scanner.
click OK
exit
Effective Settings will be correct on next Logon or reboot.
/-------------------------------------------------------------------/
If the Scanner interface board works under an Administrator account,
but not under a regular user account and you are using an Active directory domain,
Try the following:
Removed the client machine from the domain by going to the client,
right-clicking on the My Computer icon,
selecting the properties page and from there change the machine
from being on a domain to being on a workgroup.
After rebooting the client machine,
Use the same process and add the machine back
into the domain.
Reboot the computer.
After that, all the user accounts should be working fine,
including those that just were domain users
(which were the problem cases).

Installing ISIS drivers
ISIS support is obtained by installing a layer driver above the basic
dunordsi.dll This layer is given with the file dsiisis.pxn.
The file dsiisis.px5 must be copied to the winnt\pixtran directory
Under NT, the file dsiisis.px5 must be renamed dsiisis.pxn.
Installing TWAIN drivers
Install your TWAIN application. It should install appropriate Twain.dll
in the winnt directory
TWAIN support is obtained by installing a data source driver. This data
source will connect with dunordsi.dll that has to be installed before
TWAIN can be used.
The file dsitwain.ds must be copied in the windows\twain_32 directory.
Then, in your application, Select Scanner and then Acquire.
Updating drivers
When your drivers are already installed and all you want to do is
install the most current version, follow these steps:
1- stop the driver.
From the Settings menu, go to driver,
find the dunord driver in the list
stop the driver
keep this window opened for step 4
2- Replace the installed dunordsi.dll with the new version
3- Replace the installed dunord.sys with the new version
dunord2k.sys is normally found in
windowsNT/system32/driver
4- Restart the driver
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
