Compaq Integrated Ultra ATA-100 Dual Channel Driver

1. INTRODUCTION

This file contains the manual driver installation and component installer
instructions for the Compaq Integrated Ultra ATA-100 Dual Channel Driver.

2. MANUAL DRIVER INSTALLATION

If you are installing the Compaq Integrated Ultra ATA-100 Dual Channel
Driver for the first time, follow these instructions:

     1. If you have not already done so, copy all of the extracted Compaq
Integrated Ultra ATA-100 Dual Channel Driver files to a disk which we
will refer to as the Driver Disk.

     2.	Insert the Windows NT CD to begin the installation process.

     3. When Windows NT Setup displays the message "Setup is inspecting your
computer's hardware configuration...," press F6. This prevents Windows
NT Setup from performing disk controller detection and allows you to
install the driver from the Driver Disk you created.

     4. When Windows NT Setup displays the message "Setup could not
determine the type of one or more mass storage devices installed in
your system, or you have chosen to manually specify an adapter,"
press S to display a list of supported SCSI host adapters.

     5. Select Other from the bottom of the list.

     6. Insert the Driver Disk you made when prompted to do so, and select
"Compaq Integrated Ultra ATA-100 Dual Channel Controller" from the list.

     7.	Press Enter and continue the installation of Windows NT.
