-------------------------------------------------- ITX-2000 and ITX-3000 Firmware Download Instructions -------------------------------------------------- This ITX Printer Firmware is the Image Printer (FGL Emulation) Version. CAUTION: This firmware version may require a full re-programming of the printer's program memory, including the boot-sector. For a full upload, it is important that power is not removed from the printer during programming. To invoke a full upload, add the suffix "ALL" to the command line noted below. For example use: "LOAD P ALL" for a Full Upload using the Parallel Interface. To determine the current firmware in the printer, power-up pressing F0 and read the firmware version printed near the top of the System Status ticket. Refer to the table below: Current Firmware Load Suffix Boot Protection ------------------------------------------------------------------ ITX Image V1.12 or later --- Protected ITX Image V1.11 or earlier ALL Unprotected ITX-G Windows V1.05 or later --- Protected ITX-G Windows V1.04 or earlier ALL Unprotected -------------------------------------------------- Downloading the Firmware: 1) Confirm that the printer is working correctly and is connected to a PC. 2) Print our the printer's F0 Status ticket. Make note of the Model, Firmware Version. If the printer has a serial interface, confirm that the PC port settings match those described below. 3) Copy the firmware ZIP file to a separate directory and un-zip (extract) all the files into that directory. 4) Turn the Printer OFF and then back ON, while holding both the F0 and F1 buttons until a long beep is heard. Wait until the beep has finished. 5) Open a DOS shell and change to the directory where the files reside. 6) Type "LOAD" followed by the code related to printer's interface and OS, as defined below, to evoke the batch file. -------------------------------------------------- The command suffix for the printer interfaces and OS is: for a Parallel Interface (in Win 98 or Win 2K) type: LOAD P for Serial Interface at 19200 Baud (in Win 98/ME): LOAD S98 for Serial Interface at 57600 Baud (in Win 2K): LOAD S2K ---------------------------------------------------- Note: This batch file is set for fastest serial port baud rate expected to be supported for that Windows OS. For Win 98 = 19200 Baud which yields an approximate flash load time of 5 minutes (Printer DIP switches = S1=ON; S2=OFF; S3-S8=ON). For Win 2K = 57600 Baud which yields an approximate flash load time of less than 1 minute (Printer DIP switches = S1&S2=OFF; S3-S8=ON). For other OS's, or any other serial settings, simply set both the PC's and the printer's serial settings to match and then copy the new flash binary data file to the printer. Note: the Serial port must always be set to 8 data bits for Flash Programming. ----------------------------------------------------Download Driver Pack
