-------------------------------------------------------------------------- ITX-2000G and ITX-3000G Firmware Download Instructions --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This ITX "G" Printer Firmware is the Windows Version firmware. -------------- CAUTION: -------------- To download this new firmware it may require a full re-programming of the printer's program memory (unprotected), including the boot-sector, OR a partial(protected) download, not including the boot-sector. This determination is based on the firmware that is currently installed in the printer. The table below outlines these details. Note: if a full (unprotected) download is to take place insure that power is not removed from the printer during re-programming process. To invoke a full (unprotected) download, add the suffix "ALL" is added to the command line for the batch file. For example use: "LOAD ALL" for a Full Download. To invoke a partial (protected) download simply use: "LOAD" as the command line for the batch file . To determine the current firmware installed in the printer, insure that ticket stock is loaded, power-up pressing and holding the F0 switch until the printer completes its initialization. A Printer System Status report will be printed. Read the firmware version, which is near the top of this Status ticket. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the table below for the type of download process required: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Printer's Printer's Current LOAD.BAT File Loading Process Current Firmware Type Version Firmware Suffix Boot Sector Protection --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ITX-G Windows V1.05 or later Protected ITX-G Windows V1.04 or earlier ALL Unprotected ITX Image (FGL Emulation) V1.12 or later Protected ITX Image (FGL Emulation) V1.11 or earlier ALL Unprotected ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- Printer Interface note: -------------------------- The "G" Firmware printer does not support the Serial RS232 interface. If an FGL Emulation ITX printer is being changed to the "G" firmware and the printer has a Serial RS232 interface, it should first be changed, to a Parallel interface, before doing the firmware download to the printer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Downloading the Firmware to the printer: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Confirm that the printer is working correctly, has paper loaded and is connected to a PC with an Parallel Interface cable marked with IEEE-1284. 2) Copy the firmware ZIP file to a separate directory and un-zip (extract) all the files into that directory. 3) Turn the Printer OFF and then back ON, while holding both the F0 and F1 buttons until a long beep is heard. Wait until the beep has finished. The printer is now ready to receive the firmware download data. 4) Open a DOS shell and change to the directory where the files reside. 5) Type "LOAD" or "LOAD ALL", as required, by the type of download required, to evoke the batch file. Depending on the PC, the speed of the interface, etc. this process will take from ~30 seconds to 1.5 minutes. The printer will reset automatically, at the completion of a successful download. Refer to the printer's User's Manual for complete details on this firmware download process. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Download Driver Pack
