3. Installation

This section describes the steps to install an ELSA Display
        Driver for Windows 9x.

3.1 First installation of ELSA Display Driver

First install Windows 9x without special drivers for the ELSA
graphics board. The installation procedure should
find a PCI VGA-compatible display adapter and will ask for a
"Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer".

        - Push the "OK"-button
        - "Copy manufacturer's files from:"
          CD-Drive: this directory (e.g.: E:\Victory\ErazorLT\WIN9x)
The neccessary files will be copy and Windows 9x asks for
          restart.
        - Push the "Yes" or "OK"-button

Normally you need to boot your system. Push the button "Restart
        now".

3.2 Manuell installation of ELSA Display Driver

        - Start the dialog "Properties for Display" by clicking right
mouse button on the desktop or per Control Panel.
        - Select the Property Page "Settings"
        - Push the button "Change Display Type...". A dialog "Change
          Display Type" will pop up.
        - Push the button "Change..." inside the frame "Adapter Type".
You will see the "Select Device" dialog.
        - In this dialog push the button "Have Disk..." and change to
the WIN9x directory on the ELSAware CD for your WINNER board.
        - Select in the "Manufacturer" list ELSA VICTORY ErazorLT Display
Driver and in the list "Models" your VICTORY board.
        - If you use an ELSA monitor, make the same procedure for
"Monitor Type" in the "Change Display Type" dialog.
        - Close the dialog "Change Display Type". At this time the
screen flickers a moment. This is not a bug! Windows tries to
find out, which graphics modes are available with this
          driver.
        - Now you can select resolution and color depth in the main
dialog "Properties for Display". For the first installation
you should select 1024x768 and 256 colors. This configuration
is available for all memory configurations on all ELSA
          Boards.
        - Close "Properties for Display" by "OK" or "Apply" now.

After the restart the configuration of the ELSA display adapter
Driver starts from the Windows desktop.

        - Start the dialog "Properties for Display" by clicking right
mouse button on the desktop or per Control Panel.
        - Select the Property Page "ELSA Settings".
          - Property Page "Settings":
            Standard-Windows-Dialog for changing resolution, color
            depth and font size.
          - Property Page ELSA WINman
ELSA WINman gives you full control to configure your ELSA
display adapter perfectly. You can change resolution, color
            depth and refresh rate.

Normally you need to boot your system. Push the button "Restart
        now".

In all following Windows sessions you can change the resolution
        without rebooting your system.

        hints on work arounds.

6.1 Version 4.10.01.0401

6.1.1 Installation over an nVIDIA-driver

If you install the ELSA Display Driver over an existing nVIDIA
        display driver, the key:

        HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OpenGLDrivers\
        RIVA128

        will not be actualized.
        Please replace "nv3ogl.dll" with "elsavelo.dll"

6.1.2 OpenGL

The hardware support for OpenGL only works at 16Bpp up to
        800x600 Pixel.

Please make sure to backup your registryfiles(system.dat and
user.dat) before editing your Windows registry.

Some OpenGL based screensavers, e.g. 3D Pipes, may crash some
systems if working in powersaving modes.

6.1.3 There may occure misrepresentation of colors and displays by
