* 1.  SiS900 Driver Contents                                                 *

SiS900 Driver Package includes one CD-Title.

SiS900 Driver Package Contents

   Including the following file and sub-directories:
   README.TXT  : ASCII text file. This readme file.
   Diag.txt    : ASCII text file. Readme of Diagnostic Program. 	
   Diag.exe    : Diagnostic program.
   Setup.exe   : Driver setup utility for Windows 9x/2000.
   Setup.txt   : Readme file for setup.exe.


   NWSERVER.5x  <DIR>: Contains a server driver and LDI import file for loading 
		       into a NetWare 5.0 Server.   
   NWSERVER.41X <DIR>: Contains a server driver, LDI import file, and appropriate
			.NLMs for loading into a NetWare 4.10 Server.  
   NWSERVER.42  <DIR>: Contains a server driver, LDI import file, and appropriate 
                        .NLMs for loading into a NetWare 4.2 Server. 
   NWSERVER.312 <DIR>: Contains a server driver, LDI import file, and appropriate 
		        .NLMs for loading into a NetWare 3.12 server.   
   NWCLIENT 	<DIR>: Contains DOS and OS/2 NetWare client drivers, a sample 
		       NET.CFG file, and a .INS NWCLIENT import file.   
   WIN95   	<DIR>: NDIS 3 driver for Windows 95 installation.   
   WIN95.SR2    <DIR>: NDIS 4 driver for Windows 95 OSR2 installation.   
   WIN98        <DIR>: NDIS 5 driver for Windows 98 installation.   
   WIN98LED     <DIR>: NDIS 5 driver for Windows 98 installation. A software LED 
                       utility can be used to determine current speed and duplex 
     		       mode.   
   NT35		<DIR>: NDIS 3 driver for Windows NT 3.51 installation.
   NT40 	<DIR>: NDIS 4 driver for Windows NT 4.0 installation.   
   Win2000 	<DIR>: NDIS 5 driver for Windows 2000 installation.   
   WinME	<DIR>: NDIS 5 driver for Windows Millennium installation.
   WFW311	<DIR>: NDIS 3 driver for Windows for Workgroups 3.11 installation.
   CLIENT32     <DIR>: ODI Driver for Novell Client32 in DOS/Windows 3.x and 
		       Windows 95.   
   NDIS2\DOS 	<DIR>: DOS NDIS 2.x driver for non-LAN Manager installations. It 
		       can support Microsoft client, Windows for workgroup 3.11 
		       and IBM LAN Services v4.x.   
   NDIS2\OS2 	<DIR>: OS/2 NDIS 2.x driver for OS/2 MPTS installations.   
   PKTDRV 	<DIR>: DOS packet driver   
   SCO5 	<DIR>: SCO OpenServer 5.0.0 driver   
   MSLANMAN.DOS <DIR>: Microsoft LAN Manager driver.

* 2.  System Requirements                                                    *
******************************************************************************

This section describes system requirements for the SiS900 Driver
installationn and usage.

1. The hardware system must contain a SiS900 chipset (either on a
   daughter card or on the motherboard).
2. Mouse is optional.

* 3.  SiS900 Driver Setup & Usage Procedures                                 *
******************************************************************************
1. Please refer to the README.TXT file in each directory.
2. Install Windows9x/2000 driver with setup utility(setup.exe).
   For Windows 9X:
   (1). If the Operating System's New Hardware Wizard prompts you that
   "New Hardware Found" for the PCI Ethernet Controller, you should
   click "Next" until "Finish" is clicked without specifying location
   of the driver. You will see the "PCI Ethernet Controller" in the
   Device Manager.

   (2). Then you can install the driver with "setup" or "setup -s" command:
        a) setup: The Install shield will prompt you the steps to install
             the driver. 

        b) setup -s: The Install shield will complete the installation
             without prompting you any instruction.

   You need to reboot the system immediately after the Install shield 
   completes the installation.

   (3). Do not click "Cancel" during New Hardware Wizard searches for the
   driver.

   (4). After remove the driver, please restart the system immediately.

   For Windows 2000:
   Install the driver with "setup" or "setup -s" command:
   (1) setup: The Install shield will prompt you the steps to install
             the driver. 

   (2) setup -s: The Install shield will complete the installation
             without prompting you any instruction.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
