Additional Information Multimedia AT3500 Version 1.02 This file contains additional information and changes about the various software that was not available at printing time. Installation on Win3.1x Platform ================================ For installing the audio drivers on Win3.1x, please run the ISA Configuration Utility (ICU) first. The ICU helps to determine a working configuration that does not conflict with other cards in the system. You can refer to the Easy Start Manual for more details. On Windows 3.1x Operating System, choose 'Run' from the 'File' menu. Insert the Audio Installation Disk#1 into Drive A: (or Drive B:) and change the path to a:\setup (or b:\setup). For more details, you can refer to the Easy Start Manual. Installation on Windows 95 Platform =================================== Start up Windows 95 Operating System. Windows 95 will then automatically detects the PnP Sound Device and prompts a dialog box with the option "Driver from disk provided by manufacturers" being highlighted. Please insert the Audio Installation Disk#1 into Drive A: (or Drive B:) and change the path to a:\ (or b:\) and click OK to install the drivers. Windows 95 will then automatically proceed to detect all the other logical devices. Note: If you do not have Windows 95 Multimedia Applications installed previously, system will prompt you to complete the installation of the Multimedia Applications prior to the copying of the Audio Device drivers. Just follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of Multimedia Application and PnP Sound Drivers. Next, please proceed to run 'A:\SETUP.EXE' from the PnP Audio Installation Disk #1 to install the application software. You might encounter some resource conflicts after loading the PnP devices (especially when there are non-Plug & Play adaptors installed in your system). Please refer to Trouble-shooting section in Windows 95 for further details. Upgrading from Win3.x to Win95 platform ======================================= If you have set up your audio card on a Win3.x platform and want to upgrade to Windows 95, remember to remove the audio drivers by doing a deinstallation first. For more details, you can refer to the Appendix section in the User's Manual. MIC3D/MIC Option ================ If you have enabled the Mic Monitoring in DOS mode and noticed that there is no sound from the speaker when you speak to the Mic, try adjusting the Mic volume by using the MIX or VOLSET utility. AT Commands =========== For Standard AT Command Set, please refer to the document (ATCOMSET.DOC) in the installed directory. Installation on Windows 95 SR2 Platform ======================================= This version of Windows 95 will prompt the user for the Installation Disk#1 into the Floppy drive. After the installation disk has been inserted, click NEXT and follow through the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of Multimedia Application and PnP Sound Drivers. Next, proceed to run 'A:\SETUP.EXE' from the PnP Audio Installation Disk #1 to install the application software. Installation of Windows 95 with a Telephony card onboard ======================================================== If the above situation is encountered, just type A:\SETUP.EXE from the PnP Installation Disk #1 and all the required drivers will be automatically installed. Note that in this particular case, the File Transfer application will not be installed. However, in that of the Windows 95 OSR2 platform, the File Transfer will be installed. Updated Windows 95 Audio Drivers ================================ The updated windows95 drivers now support Full Duplex Operation, Windows Direct-X Sound, SingleModeDma operation. They also include enhancements in Window's mixer controls and power management. To upgrade to these drivers, double click on the "Win95 Driver Upgrade" icon in the newly created program group after having restarted the Windows upon completion of the installation. Note : These new drivers have not passed Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs. (WHQL) logo testing. Cards with 3D function ====================== If your card has 3D function, after installing SETUP or restarting from Windows, you can activate the 3D function by clicking on the '3D' button which is located on the audio mixer. For Windows 3.x, the mixer can be found in the program group formed after installation. For Windows 95, the mixer can be found under the group name formed after installation. This is in turn located under 'Programs' in the 'Start' menu. The '3D' function can also be activated through the Microsoft Volume Control Panel. This can be done by clicking on the default Microsoft 'Speaker' icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen. Choose 'Options' and then 'Advanced Controls' from menu. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
