Introduction: This Ethernet LANtastic AI-LANBIOS Compatible Driver supports 802.3 and XEROX frame type. Ensure that you have an adapter-independent version of the LANtastic product and the LANtastic NOS/AI, since AE-2 LANtastic v3.02 or later can no longer work with non-Artisoft hardware. 2. Contents of the Subdirectory: E2K.EXE The LANtastic AI-LANBIOS compatible driver that supports AILANBIOS v4.04 specification. It works with LANtastic v5.00 and LANtastic v6.00. 3. Installation 1) Install the PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter on your system, following the procedure described in your PCMCIA Ethernet adapter user's manual. 2) Install the LANtastic product following the instructions in your LANtastic Network Operating System User Manual. 3) When you are asked to select the type of your LAN adapter, choose "NEX016 Novell NE2000 16-bit ISA Bus or Compatible". 4) When the installation is completed, edit STARTNET.BAT to replace the line "NEX000..." with "E2K IRQ=3 IOBASE=300 VERBOSE", as the following example shown: . . ( SHARE /L:200 ) E2K IRQ=3 IOBASE=300 VERBOSE AILANBIOS REDIR PCNAME LOGINS=3 ( SERVER ) NET LOGIN \\SERVER USER . . Note: You should change the IRQ and I/O base address according to the hardware settings. 5) Copy E2K.EXE from the Ethernet Driver Disk to \LANTASTI of your hard disk. 6) Run STARTNET.BAT to start LANtastic NOS. 4. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
