1. Introduction
This Ethernet NDIS driver for IBM LAN Server conforms to 3Com/Microsoft
LAN Manager Network Driver Interface Specification v2.0.1 (Final 1990-
10-8). It supports IBM LAN Server for OS/2 environment.
2. Contents of the Subdirectory
RETH.OS2 The NIDS driver for PCMCIA Ethernet Cards.
RETH.NIF The NIF file for Ethernet NDIS driver.
3. Installation
1) Install the PCMCIA EThernet Card on your PC system, following the
procedure in your Ethernet adapter installation manual.
2) Install your LAN Server network system on your hard disk.
3) If you are using LAN Server v3.0, type "LAPS" at the C:\IBMCOM prompt
and press <Enter>. If you are using LAN Server v4.0, type "INSTALL"
at the C:\IBMCOM prompt and press <Enter>.
4) Select "Install" and insert the Ethernet Driver Disk that includes
the NDIS driver for IBM LAN Server to any floppy drive, e.g., A:,
to install the driver.
5) When prompted to specify the source of the network information file
(.NIF files) for the adapter drivers you want to install, type
"A:\IBMLAN.OS2" and select OK.
6) When the Installation Complete window appears, select OK.
4. Configuration
1) At the C:\IBMCOM prompt, type "LAPS" and press <Enter>.
2) When the main screen appears, select "Configure".
3) When the Configuration windows is displayed, select "Continue", then
the following windows will appear.

7) When finished editting, select OK to save changes, or select Cancel
to exit without saving.
8) Select OK to return to the main menu.
9) Select Exit to exit. The configuration utility will update your
CONFIG.SYS automatically. Specify related settings when prompted
for; then reboot your system to have the changes take effect.
Note: A backup of each CONFIG.SYS file called CONFIG.LAP will be
created before updates are made.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
