Note1: UPDATING CONFIG.SYS FILE
__________________________________
The installer by default does the updation of CONFIG.SYS,
however, the default can be overruled, enabling manual
updation of CONFIG.SYS file.
On the first installation the required lines are appended to the
end of the CONFIG.SYS file. In case of re-installing or if
the CONFIG.SYS already had the required entries, the installer,
however, retains those lines and no new entries are made.
6. From within the OS/2 desktop:
o Open the 'OS/2 System' folder.
o Open the 'System Setup' folder.
(in the OS/2 System folder)
o Open the 'Selective Install' application.
(in the System Setup folder)
o Enable the 'CD-ROM Support' option and choose 'OK'.
o Look for the CD-ROM device connected to your system
in the given list of CD-ROM devices.
If the device is present in the list choose it, if not
choose the 'OTHERS' option and choose 'OK'.
o The Installer queries for the Source and Destination
paths of the required files.
o The Installer then prompts for the Insertion of
Installation Diskettes in the source drive.
The Installer updates the system's CONFIG.SYS and
now the CD-ROM device can be accessed from OS/2 Window,
OS/2 Full Screen etc., just like any other drive.

Note 1: DISKSHUTTLE INSTALLATION
_______________________________________
When installing the Diskshuttle under OS/2, you are offered
two installation options.
You should choose the 'EPIA - DEFAULT' option,
NOT the 'EPIA - treat Rem.HD as fixed disk' option.
After the installation is complete, you must re-boot the
system for the changes to take effect. A drive letter
should automatically be allocated to the Diskshuttle.
Note 2: UPDATING CONFIG.SYS FILE
__________________________________
The installer by default does the updating of CONFIG.SYS,
however, the default can be overruled, enabling manual
updating of CONFIG.SYS file.
On the first installation the required lines are appended
to the end of the CONFIG.SYS file. In case of re-installing
or if the CONFIG.SYS already had the required entries,
the installer, however, retains those lines and no new entries
are made.
6. From within the OS/2 desktop:

o The Installer queries for the Source and Destination
paths of the required files.
o The Installer then prompts for the Insertion of
Installation Diskettes in the source drive.
The Installer updates the system's CONFIG.SYS and
now the CD-ROM device can be accessed from OS/2 Window,
OS/2 Full Screen etc., just like any other drive.
III. Manual Install
A. Creating script file for EPAT.ADD drivers for your parallel port.
Run SHTLMAN /OS2 from a floppy drive booting DOS (DO NOT RUN
FROM DOS BOX UNDER OS/2). This will create some script files with
extension *.DDP. This will be the diskette you will have to
insert when OS/2 DDINSTALL prompts for driver diskette. Copy to
this diskette, EPAT.ADD Ver 2.01 also.
B. INSTALLING THE DRIVER THROUGH OS/2 DDINSTAL.
Note: A Fixed HD/Rem. HD when not supported by OS2DASD, is assumed
to be supported by a device specific driver.
When DDINSTAL prompts for the driver diskette, insert the
driver diskette which you have made in STEP A and push the
'Install' button. Now you will see the following list.
FileDisk HDD Adapter
FileDisk HDD Adapter - Fix as Rem. HD
FileDisk CDROM Adapter - ATAPI CDROM
Select the adapter and the configuration (which is self explaining)
you want. DDINSTAL updates the CONFIG.SYS with the appropriate
command line switch. If you want to change the configuration later,
please make sure that you remove the line 'BASEDEV=EPAT.ADD' from
the CONFIG.SYS before reinstalling through DDINSTAL. Otherwise,
DDINSTAL will not update the CONFIG.SYS with the appropriate
configuration parameters.
C. To install the EPAT.ADD add the line to CONFIG.SYS,
BASEDEV = EPAT.ADD
Please note that this line should be before,
BASEDEV = OS2DASD.DMD and BASEDEV= OS2SCSI.DMD and OS2ASPI.DMD.
a. CONNECTING A HARDDISK TO THE EPAT SHUTTLE:
Any SCSI hard disk connected to the shuttle will be supported
by the OS/2 harddisk driver (OS2DASD.DMD.)
If you want to connect OS/2 SCSI Removable devices, refer
to OS/2 user manual whether OS2DASD.DMD could support the device.
If not, use COREL'S ASPI modules.
b. CONNECTING A CDROM DRIVE TO THE EPAT SHUTTLE:
1. FOR OS/2 2.0:
OS/2 2.0 supports only IBM CDROM drive and Toshiba drive.
If you have one of these drives, then insert the following
lines in CONFIG.SYS .
BASEDEV = EPAT.ADD
BASEDEV = OS2SCSI.DMD
IFS = CDROM.IFS
DEVICE = CDROM.SYS
However if you have a CDROM drive other than the ones
aforementioned, then you may use a CDROM ASPI front end device
module from a third party vendor like COREL. For this you require
OS2ASPI.DMD which converts the ASPI requests from the ASPI device
module to ADD requests and passes it on to EPAT.ADD.
You should first insert the following lines in the CONFIG.SYS
and reboot.
BASEDEV = EPAT.ADD
BASEDEV = OS2SCSI.DMD
BASEDEV = OS2ASPI.DMD
Now you should run COREL's INSTALL program, which updates the
CONFIG.SYS for the CDROM device.
2. FOR OS/2 2.1:
To support the CDROM drive, in addition to 'BASEDEV=EPAT.ADD',
you have to install OS/2 SCSI device driver OS2SCSI.DMD.
Then run OS/2's 'Selective Install ' from OS/2 System Setup menu
(You can reach the 'OS/2 System Setup' by pressing the right
mouse button in the desktop screen or by selecting OS/2 SYSTEM
icon). For this, first reboot the system with the following
lines inserted in the CONFIG.SYS.
BASEDEV = EPAT.ADD
BASEDEV = OS2SCSI.DMD
After rebooting, run 'Selective Install' as mentioned above.
Now OS/2 will highlight the CDROM device that has been found
in the CDROM device supported list.
SUPPORTING A CDROM DEVICE THROUGH ASPI:
However if you wish to install an ASPI CDROM device module, you
require OS2ASPI.DMD which converts the ASPI requests from the
ASPI device module to ADD requests and passes it on EPAT.ADD.
You should first insert the following lines in the CONFIG.SYS
and reboot.
BASEDEV = EPAT.ADD
BASEDEV = OS2SCSI.DMD
BASEDEV = OS2ASPI.DMD
Now you should run COREL's INSTALL program, which updates the
CONFIG.SYS for the CDROM device.
