What's in Release 1.03?
---------------------------
Release 1.03 is a minor update addressing one issue:
* Fixed bug due to hard coded registry paths used by driver
which called wrong registry path to device paramaters. For
typical situations this wasn't a problem but for some where
some type of boot up recovery reverted to a prior registry
settings set - it could cause problems opening the device.
What's in Release 1.02?
---------------------------
Release 1.02 is a minor update addressing two issues:
* On some notebook computers, Windows assigns an MPAP-x00 PCMCIA
card an edge-triggered interrupt while the card is still set
to generate a level-sensitive interrupt. This can cause a missed
interrupt, resulting in what looks like a hung transmitter. We
have changed the INF file to force Windows to give the MPAP-x00
the appropriate level-sensitive interrupt.
Because the change is in the INF file and not in the Syncdrive Plus
drivers themselves, if you have been affected by this issue, a
complete reinstallation is necessary. You will need to uninstall
your MPAP-x00, remove the existing INF files, and reinstall using
the updated INF. Please contact our technical support department
for assistance in tracking down and deleting the old INF if you
can't find where Windows renames and hides it.
* Fixed a bug that prevented a quick close/open cycle to recover
from certain errors. The driver was failing to cancel an outstanding
I/O request, resulting in an error when the application tried to
reopen the port.
What's in Release 1.01?
---------------------------
Release 1.01 is minor revision of release 1.00. Modifications were
made in the header file used with example programs to resolve linking
errors when used with C++ type applications because of C++ decoration
of external symbols,
Release 1.00 was the first major release of the Syncdrive Plus software.
Syncdrive Plus does not replace the original Syncdrive, which is still
used to support platforms earlier than Windows 2000/XP. Syncdrive Plus
was designed to support the Windows 2000/XP platform and exports a
completely different API than Syncdrive. The first release of Syncdrive
Plus can transfer data in bit synchronous mode only. Other features
include the following:
* Supported platforms --- Windows 2000/XP
* Simplified application development - Applications simply
read and write frames as they would files without any worry
about buffer management, interrupts, or register handling.
* Designed to utilize the 1KB receive and transmit FIFOs that
supplement the SCC built in FIFOs for increased performance.
Performance notice
-----------------
Although the SCC (Synchronous Communication Controller) is specified to
run at max rates of 1/4 of the clock frequency, Syncdrive Plus limits this
to 1/6 due to the fact that in pressing the upper limits of the SCC, clock
jitter between the two channels becomes critical and sporadic frame errors
occur. The upper limit avoids the user in concern in handling this type of
error.

The current revision of the Syncdrive User's Manual is January 2003, Quatech part
number 940-0184-100. The part number and date can be found on the outside
front cover of Quatech manuals. Any future updates to the manual will be
available from the Quatech Technical Support or Sales departments, the
Quatech BBS, or the Quatech World Wide Web site on the Internet.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
