                    Using SEIKO Precision Printer Driver
                       Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) 3.51


This diskette incorporates the printer driver for the SEIKO Precision Printers 
to be used in Microsoft Windows NT 3.51. This [\NT35DRV] directory now includes
the following printer driver files:

     * BP-9000
     * FB-840


Before install the printer driver, you must copy following files from your 
Windows NT disk to this directory.

       RASDD.DLL ( or RASDD.DL_ )
       RASDDUI.DLL ( or RASDDUI.DL_ )


As for installing the printer driver and setting the Printers, refer to the 
following:

1. To create the printer, procedure as follows

 1.1. From the Main group, choose the < Print Manager > icon.
 1.2. From the < Printer > menu, choose the < Create Printer > command.
 1.3. From the < Create Printer > dialog box, choose the < Driver > box.
 1.4. From the < Select Driver > box, select < Other... >.
 1.5. From the < Install Driver > box, type the drive and path of the printer 
      driver file and choose < OK > button. (Example. A:\NT35DRV)
 1.6. From the < List Of Printers > box, select a model name to be installed.
 1.7. For instructions on how to configure your printer, please see Microsoft 
      Windows NT User's Manual.


2. To update a printer, procedure as follows

 2.1. From the Main group, choose the < Print Manager > icon.
 2.2. From the < Printer > menu, choose the < Printer Properties > command.
 2.3. From the < Printer Properties > dialog box, choose the < Driver > box.
 2.4. From the < Select Driver > box, select < Other... >.
 2.5. From the < Install Driver > box, type the drive and path of the printer 
      driver file and choose < OK > button. (Example. A:\NT35DRV)
 2.6. From the < List Of Printers > box, select a model name to be installed.
 2.7. For instructions on how to configure your printer, please see Microsoft 
      Windows NT User's Manual.

1. BP-9000

   Select the correct paper size and paper path which is suitable for the
   document to be printed according to the following instruction. Refer to
   the Allow Key below to use for selection.

         <-     :       Left arrow.  Same as "PARK"  key.
         ->     :       Right arrow. Same as "PAPER" key.
         ^      :       Up arrow.    Same as "M.LF"  key.
         v      :       Down arrow.  Same as "M.RLF" key.

 1.1. Setup the paper form.
   From the < Printer Setup > dialog box, choose the paper form from the 
   following list.

   The documents formatted in non-supported sizes may print incorrectly. 
   In these instances, adjust the top, bottom, left and right of margin on 
   setup menu for your own printer. This should solve the problem.

 1.2. How to set the printer to the factory function setting.
  (1) In  the off line mode, press the "SETUP" Key to enter the setup mode.
  (2) Press the "->"  or "<-" key to indicate the "8 SELECT SETUP" on the LCD 
      display.
  (3) Press the "^"  or "v" key to indicate the "SET. : FACTORY" on the LCD 
      display.
  (4) Press the "ENTER" key.
  (5) When "PRESS RESET SW" is indicated on the LCD display, press the "RESET" 
      switch.

 1.3. How to identify the CSF(option) installed mode.
  (1) While keeping pressed the "SETUP" Key, press the "RESET" switch to enter 
      the extended setup mode.
  (2) Press the "->"  or "<-" key to indicate "49 CSF OPTION" on the LCD
      display.
  (3) Use the  "^"  or "v" key to select CSF mode, press the "ENTER" key.
  (4) Press the "EXIT"  or "SETUP" key to exit from the setup mode.
  (5) When the "PRESS RESET SW" on the LCD display is indicated, press the 
      RESET switch.

 1.4. How to set the paper size.
  1.4.1 Fanfold paper
  (1) Indicate the "2 PAGE  FANFOLD" on the LCD display in the setup mode.  
  (2) Use the  "^"  or "v" key to select the page length, press the "ENTER" 
      key.
  (3) Press the "EXIT"  or "SETUP" key to exit from the setup mode.

  1.4.2 Single sheet paper
  (1) Indicate the "3   PAGE  SINGLE" on the LCD display in the setup mode.  
  (2) Use the  "^"  or "v" key to select the paper size, press the "ENTER"
      key.
  (3) Press the "EXIT"  or "SETUP" key and to exit from the setup mode.
  (4) When you select the User Defined Size:
      Select the larger size paper than your using paper by the setup
      mode "3  PAGE SINGLE".
      Set the application software so that the print area can not exceed
      your using paper.

 1.5. How to select the paper path.
  (1) Paper path can not be changed while the paper is loaded in the printer.
      Eject the paper loaded in the current paper path by pressing the "PARK"
      key.
  (2) When the printer is ON-LINE press "ON LINE" key to make the printer to
      be OFF-LINE. Then select the correct paper path to be selected by
      pressing the "PAPER" key while pressing and holding the "SHIFT" key.
  (3) When the correct paper path to be selected is displayed on the LCD wait
      a minute until the buzzer sound, then the printer goes into OFF-LINE
      automatically and the correct paper path is selected.
  (4) Set the friction lever to the correct position depending on the selected
      paper path.



2. FB-840

   Use the normal factory default setting. Paper size and paper path are
   automatically selected when the document is printed.
   When changing the factory default setting or using the options read the
   following instruction. Refer to the Allow Key below to use for selection.

	 <-     :       Left arrow.  Same as "EJECT/LOAD" key.
         ->     :       Right arrow. Same as "FORM FEED"  key.
	 ^      :       Up arrow.    Same as "LINE FEED"  key.
	 v      :       Down arrow.  Same as "REVERSE LF" key.

 2.1. Setup the paper form.
   From the < Printer Setup > dialog box, choose the paper form from the 
   following list.

 2.2. How to set the printer to the factory function setting.
   When the four keys LINE FEED, EJECT/LOAD, PAPER PATH and PAPER FORM are
   pressed at the same time when the power is in, the printer is set to the
   factory setting.

 2.3. How to identify the option installed mode.
  (1) While keeping pressed the "ALT" Key, press the "SETUP" switch to enter 
      the extended setup mode.
  (2) Press the "->"  or "<-" key to indicate the "60 OPTION" on the LCD 
      display.
  (3) Use the  "^"  or "v" key to select option setting, press the "ENTER"
      key.
  (4) Press the "SETUP" key to exit from the setup mode.

 2.4. How to set the paper size and paper path.
  (1) The paper size and paper path are automatically set by software.
  (2) When you select the User Defined Size:
      Select the larger size paper than you are using from the setup mode
      "4 PAGE LENGTH".
      Set the application software so that the print area can not exceed
      the paper you are using.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
