UPGRADING DEVICE DRIVERS FOR
USRobotics 56K Internal Modem

WINDOWS 95
1. Place the following updated modem driver files onto a diskette:
		MDMHIT2.INF
		USRWAVE1.INF
   
2. Go into the Device Manager:
   Control Panel, System, and click on Device Manager tab.

3. Expand Modem and select USRobotics 56K Internal Modem.

4. Click on Properties, then click on the Driver tab, then click on
   Update Driver button.

5. Select the "Yes (Recommended)" option to allow Windows search for
   an updated driver.  Insert the diskette containing the updated
   drivers into the floppy drive and click on Next.

6. Windows will locate the updated driver.  Click on Finish to
   install.

7. When complete, click on Close.


WINDOWS 98
1. Repeat steps 1 through 4 as listed for the Windows 95 Operating
   System.

2. Click on Next at the informational window.

3. Select the option for Windows to "Search for a better driver than
   the one your device is using now. (Recommended)".  Then click on
   Next.

4. Check the Floppy disk drives box only.  Insert the diskette
   containing the updated drivers into the floppy drive and click on
   Next.

5. Windows will locate the updated driver.  Click on Next to install.

6. When complete, click on Finish.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
