UPGRADING DEVICE DRIVERS FOR USRobotics 56K Internal Modem NOTES for WINDOWS 95/98 OPERATING SYSTEM 1. The upgrade routine will place a copy of the new INF file in the C:\WINDOWS\INF\OTHER directory. The file will have the manufacturer's name appended to it: U.S. Robotics,Inc.MDMHIT2.INF 2. The old driver files within the OS are not deleted. They may exist in the following locations: C:\WINDOWS\INF C:\HITACHI.PC\DRIVERS\MODEM C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS 3. As long as the new INF file placed in C:\WINDOWS\INF\OTHER is not removed, the modem will re-install itself using the new driver.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
