           Installing the PCMCIA LAN+56K Modem PC Card driver
                                Under WFW 3.1
           ========================================================

The NDIS driver for Windows for Workgroups 3.1 follows Microsoft's NDIS
specification version 2.0.1.

The PCMCIA LAN+56K Modem PC adapter for Windows for Workgroups device
driver files contained in this directory are as follows:

This driver diskette includes an OEMSETUP.INF file for WFW.  Using the
OEMSETUP.INF file, you can select the PCMCIA LAN+56K Modem PC Card to
be installed through the Windows dialog box menus.

If you are installing Windows for Workgroups for the first time, we advise
you to run the SETUP program with /I option (ignore hardware detection):
SETUP/I.  If you don't use the /I option, the computer may hang during
installation.  If this happens, reboot the machine, and run the SETUP program
again.

*  Installation Procedure Steps  *
**********************************

If you are installing WFW for the first time, when prompted with the
"Install New Network Adapter" menu, please go to following 'step 2' and
answer questions.  If you have already installed WFW, you can go to the
"Main => Control Panel => Network => Adapters" menu and answer the
following questions.

 1. In "Network Adapters" dialog box, choose the "Add..." button.

 2. When asked for the name of new network card, select "Unlisted or Updated
    Network Adapter".

 3. Insert this diskette into drive "A".

 4. When asked for the path of VENDOR-PROVIDED driver file, type
    "A:\WFW31".

 5. Select the "PCMCIA LAN+56K Modem PC Card" choice.

 6. You need to specify IRQ and I/O settings, which must be equal to the
    /IRQ and /IO parameters specified to the enabler program.

 7. After WFW finishes the setup for the driver, it will modify your
    CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT and PROTOCOL.INI files.

 8. Restart your computer so that the updates will take effect.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
