1) How to Install Appian Duet Windows 98 Drivers
================================================================
To install downloaded Appian Duet drivers for Windows 98, please unzip the contents of
the downloaded file to a floppy disk and perform the following steps. These installation
instructions are for Appian Duet Windows 98 drivers only. HydraVision 98 multiple
monitor desktop management software is available separately from Appian for Windows
98 and can be downloaded from the Appian Web site.

(a) Unzip the downloaded driver file to a floppy disk with a utility such as Winzip
(available at www.winzip.com). This floppy disk will be your Appian Duet install disk.

(b) Insert the install disk into your floppy disk drive.

(c) From the Start button on the taskbar, select Settings and then select Control Panel.
The Control Panel window appears.

(d) Double click on the Display icon.

(e) Select the Settings tab page and click the Advanced button. The Video Properties
window appears.

(f) Select the Adapter tab page and click the Change button. The Update Device Driver
Wizard window appears.

(g) Select Next. Make sure that the option "Display a list of all drivers in a specific
location, so you can select the driver you want" is selected.

(h) Select Next and click the Have Disk button.

(i) The Install from Disk dialog box appears. Make sure the Windows 98 Appian Duet
installation disk is in the appropriate floppy drive and select its location.

(j) Click OK. The Select Device dialog box appears with the Duet Windows 98 driver
selected.

(k) Select OK. You are returned to the Update Device Driver Wizard and informed that
Windows is ready to install the Duet driver.

(l) Select Next. A dialog box appears informing you that the driver files are being copied,
followed by a message stating that Windows has completed the install for the video
device.

(m) Select Finish. You are returned to the Adapter tab page. Select Apply. You are
returned to the Display Properties Control Panel. Select Close.

(n) You are prompted to restart the computer. Select Yes and allow the computer to
restart. Windows 98 now restarts in 640 x 480 single monitor mode. You can change this
and other settings using the Display Properties Control Panel. Please refer to your
Microsoft Windows 98 documentation for more information about Display Property
controls for multiple monitors.
