These installation instructions are for Jeronimo J3 Windows 98 drivers only. HydraVision multiple monitor desktop management software is available separately from Appian for Windows 98 and will be released and available in August, 1998. (a) Unzip the downloaded driver file to a floppy disk with a utility such as Winzip (available at www.winzip.com). This floppy disk will be your Jeronimo J3 install disk. (b) Insert the install disk into your floppy disk drive. (c) From the Start button on the taskbar, select Settings and then select Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears. (d) Double click on the Display icon. (e) Select the Settings tab page and click the Advanced button. The Video Properties window appears. (f) Select the Adapter tab page and click the Change button. The Update Device Driver Wizard window appears. (g) Select Next. Make sure that the option "Display a list of all drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want" is selected. (h) Select Next and click the Have Disk button. (i) The Install from Disk dialog box appears. Make sure the Windows 98 Jeronimo J3 installation disk is in the appropriate floppy drive and select its location. (j) Click OK. The Select Device dialog box appears with the Jeronimo J3 Windows 98 driver selected. (k) Select OK. You are returned to the Update Device Driver Wizard and informed that Windows is ready to install the Jeronimo J3 driver. (l) Select Next. A dialog box appears informing you that the driver files are being copied, followed by a message stating that Windows has completed the install for the video device. (m) Select Finish. You are returned to the Adapter tab page. Select Apply. You are returned to the Display Properties Control Panel. Select Close. (n) You are prompted to restart the computer. Select Yes and allow the computer to restart. Windows 98 now restarts in 640 x 480 single monitor mode. You can change this and other settings using the Display Properties Control Panel. This can cause the driver to fail to load. Appian recommends that you "Shut Down" the machine after installing the Jeronimo J3 drivers rather than use the restart option provided by Windows 98. 5) HydraVision 98 Desktop Management Support ================================================================ Under Windows 98, Appian HydraVision desktop management software is installed separately from the driver the Jeronimo J3 driver. This new version of HydraVision for Windows 98 and Windows NT 5.0 is called HydraVision 98. To install HydraVision 98, please download the software from the Appian ftp site and install per the instructions in that package. Note that HydraVision 98 will be available in August, 1998.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
