2) How to Install Appian Gemini Windows 98 Drivers
===============================================================
These installation instructions are for Gemini Windows 98 
drivers only. HydraVision 98 multiple monitor desktop management 
software is available separately from Appian Graphics for 
Windows 98 and can be downloaded from the Appian Web site.

NOTE: If you downloaded the Gemini driver package from the 
internet, unzip the downloaded file to a temporary subdirectory 
on your hard drive. The subdirectory you create on your hard 
drive should be empty of all files prior to unzipping the Gemini 
driver file. This temporary subdirectory can be deleted after 
driver installation.

a)	Browse to the location of the driver installation files 
	on the hard drive or insert the installation disk into 
	the appropriate drive.

b)	From the START button on the taskbar, select SETTINGS, 
	then CONTROL PANEL.

c)	Double-click the DISPLAY icon.

d)	Select the SETTINGS tab and click the ADVANCED button. 

e)	Select the ADAPTER tab and click the CHANGE button.

f)	Click NEXT. Make sure that the option "Display a list 
	of all drivers in a specific location, so you can select 
	the driver you want" is selected.

g)	Click NEXT and click the HAVE DISK button.

h)	The Install from Disk dialog box appears. Select the 
	path to the Windows 98 driver files using the 
	BROWSE button. 

i)	Click OK. The Select Device dialog box appears with the 
	Gemini Windows 98 driver selected.

j)	Click OK. You are returned to the Update Device Driver 
	Wizard and informed that Windows is ready to install 
	the Gemini driver.

k)	Click NEXT. A dialog box appears informing you that the 
	driver files are being copied, followed by a message 
	stating that Windows has completed the install for the 
	video device.

l)	Click FINISH. You are returned to the ADAPTER tab. 

m)	Click APPLY, then CLOSE.

n)	You are prompted to restart the computer. Click YES 
	and allow the computer to restart. 

o)	Windows 98 now restarts in 640x480 single monitor 
	mode. This and other settings can be changed in the 
	Display Properties dialog box. Please refer to the 
	Microsoft Windows 98 documentation for more information 
	about display property controls for multiple monitors.


3) How to Uninstall Gemini Windows 98 Drivers
================================================================
To uninstall Gemini drivers in Windows 98, use the Windows 
Add/Remove Programs control panel utility. 


4) International Support
================================================================
HydraVision 98 provides support for Brazilian Portuguese, 
Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, 
Korean, Norwegian, Spanish, Swedish, Simplified Chinese, and 
Traditional Chinese. If you are running Windows 98 in any of 
these languages, HydraVision 98 will automatically load the 
appropriate localized Control Panel. If you are running Windows 
98 in a non-supported language, the HydraVision 98 Control 
Panel will be available in English only.


5) HydraVision 98 Desktop Management Support
================================================================
Under Windows 98, Appian HydraVision desktop management software 
is installed separately from the Gemini driver. HydraVision 
software for both Windows 98 and Windows 2000 is called 
HydraVision 98. To install HydraVision 98, please download the
software from the Appian Graphics FTP site: http://ftp.appian.com
or refer to the Gemini CD-ROM or diskette and install per the 
instructions in that package.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
