Introduction:
=============
  This document shows you how to setup the driver and how to use the enhanced
  functions by setting the custom keywords.

  Location of Driver:     \W98&2000\ALN325.SYS

Contents of the Subdirectory:
=============================
    ALN325.SYS          The NDIS5 driver for Windows 2000.
    ALN325.INF          The installation information file.

Installation:
=============
  Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the adapter
  is properly installed and configured.

   1.Because ALN325 uses Realtek 8139 as its MAC chip,so when you plug the
     ALN-325 in the mother board and power on the Windows 2000,the
     'Found New Hardware Wizard' window will prompt and says that

     'The wizard will complete the installation for this device.

        Realtek RTL8139-based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter'

     And ask you 'what do you want Windows NT to do ?'

     We recommand you to install the driver from the distributing disk and
     choose

     'Display a list of the known drivers for this device,so I can choose a
      specified driver.'

   2.Click 'Next' then it will prompt a 'Select Network Adapter' window.

     Click 'Have Disk'.

   3.In 'Install From Disk' window,type the following path in the combo list.

                a:\W98&2000

     Click OK.

   4.There will show
                'AOpenLAN ALN-325 10/100 Based-TX Fast Ethernet Adapter'
     in the 'Network Adapter' field.
     Click 'Next'.

   5.There will show
                'AOpenLAN ALN-325 10/100 Based-TX Fast Ethernet Adapter'
     in 'Found New Hardware wizard' window.

     Click 'Next'.

   6.Windows 2000 will copy the driver and system files for the network.
     Restart Windows 2000 to make the ALN325 work.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
