Accton Technology Corporation EN2216/2316 PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter Microsoft Windows 2000 Driver Installation Windows 2000 provides a complete "Plug and Play" System that automatically recognizes and configures EN2216/2316. Before installing the EN2216/2316 adapter, Windows 2000's PCMCIA service must be installed and enabled. This service can be started in the Control Panel. Driver Installation Steps for Windows 2000: 1) Insert the EN2216 or EN2316 adapter in a PCMCIA slot. 2) "Welcome to the new hardware found wizard" Window appears. Click the "Next" button. 3) Hardware Wizard displays the message "The wizard will complete the installation for this device ACCTON-EN2216-PCMCIA-Ethernet". Click "search for a suitable driver for my device", and click the "Next" button. 4) Inser the EN2216/2316 driver disk in drive A:\. Click the "Specify a location" selection, and click the "Next" button. 5) Enter "A:\WIN2000" for the location of the EN2216/2316 driver. Click "Yes". 6) When the Hardware Wizard confirms it has found the driver in "A:\win2000\net2216.inf", click "Next". 7) When the system displays a message about the digital signing, and asks you if you want to continue installation, click "Yes". 8) Windows displays the message 'Windows has finished installing the driver". Click "Finish". 9) The driver should be now up and running. Note: When Windows 2000 and the Network is up and running, it is not recommended to remove the EN2216/2316 adapter from the PCMCIA slot without telling the system first. Before you remove the adapter, please follow these steps: 1) Double click on the My Computer icon, and then double click on the Control Panel icon. 2) Double click on the PCMCIA icon. The "PC Card (PCMCIA) Properties" window appears. 3) Select "Accton EN2216/2316 PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter" from the list, and then click the Stop button. 4) Wait until the message box with the "You may safely remove the device" message appears. Click OK. 5) Remove the EN2216/2316 adapter from the PCMCIA slot. If you do not follow these steps and just pull the adapter from the PCMCIA slot, the system may hang and you have to reboot the system.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
