               EN2216/2316 PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter
            Microsoft Windows Millennium  Driver Installation



1) Insert the EN2216 or EN2316 adapter in a PCMCIA slot.

2) The Hardware Wizard comes up, with the message "Found the following new hardware:
ACCTON-EN2216-PCMCIA-Ethernet".  Click "Specify the location of the driver", and 
click the "Next" button.

3) Windows display the message "Windows will now search for updated drivers in its 
driver database and in any of the following locations."  Inserthe EN2216/2316 driver
disk in drive A:\.  Click the "Specify a location" check box, and enter "A:\WINME" 
for the location of the EN2216/2316 driver, then click the "Next" button.

4) Windows displays the name of the installation file: "A:\WINME\NET2216.INF".  Click 
the "Next" button.

5) Windows displays the message "Windows has installed the driver".  Click "Finish"

6) Windows displays the message "Please restart the computer".  Click "Yes".

7) Remove the floppy disk from the disk drive.  Wait until the system is restarted.
   
Note:

   When Windows Millennium and the Network is up and running, it is not
   recommended to remove the EN2216/2316 adapter from the
   PCMCIA slot without telling the system first.  Before you remove
   the adapter, please follow these steps:

      1) Double click on the My Computer icon, and then double click on
         the Control Panel icon.
      2) Double click on the PCMCIA icon.  The "PC Card (PCMCIA) Properties"
         window appears.
      3) Select "Accton EN2216/2316 PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter" from
         the list, and then click the Stop button.
      4) Wait until the message box with the "You may safely remove the
         device" message appears.  Click OK.
      5) Remove the EN2216/2316 adapter from the PCMCIA slot.

   If you do not follow these steps and just pull the adapter from
   the PCMCIA slot, the system may hang and you have to reboot the
   system.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
