Flash Com Version 1.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------ The following instructions will guide you in installing your modem into a valid COMPORT if your operating system fails to install your modem correctly: 1. Click on START 2. Go to SETTINGS 3. Go to CONTROL PANEL 4. Double click on SYSTEM 5. Click on the Device Manager 6. Double click MODEMS Tab 7. Highlight the "Creative Modem Blaster Modem" and double click 8. Click on the RESOURCES Tab 9. UNCHECK the "Use automatic settings" 10. HIGHLIGHT the "Input/ Output Range" area 11. Locate the "Settings Based on" section and choose the BASIC CONFIGURATION setting that sets the "INPUT/OUTPUT RANGE" to = 02E8-02Ef (usually 0008 to 000A settings). This will set the modem to COM 4 and IRQ (what ever is available) 12. HIGHLIGHT "Interrupt Request" 13. CLICK on the "Change Settings" Tab and locate the next available IRQ (make sure the field at the bottom responds with "No devices are conflicting") 14. Close ALL open fields until you are back to the CONTROL PANEL field 15. To check to see if system is able to see if the modem has been installed, Double click on the MODEMS ICON, and CLICK on the Diagnostics Tab. You should see that your modem is now on COM4. Highlight COM4 and click on the "More Info" tab to allow your system to communicate with the modem. If you see ATI responses then you have successfully installed your modem. 16. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
