1. Windows98SE installation with CD-W28PU
1.1 Create Windows98SE Startup Disk.
Please refer to instruction provided by PC manufacturer.

1.2 Modify Config.sys in the Startup disk as follows,

1.3 Copy recovery driver usb0000.sys (provided by TEAC) to Startup disk.
If there is not enough disk space, please delete unnecessary files due to above modification.

1.4 Connect CD-W28PU to the system, then boot from modified Startup disk.

1.5 CD-W28PU starts installation of Windows98SE as a recovery CD-ROM.

2. WindowsME installation with CD-W28PU
2.1 Create WindowsME Startup Disk.
Please refer instruction provided by PC manufacturer.

2.2 Modify Config.sys in the Startup disk as follows,

2.3 Copy recovery driver usb0000.sys (provided by TEAC) to Startup disk.

2.4 Connect CD-W28PU to the system, then boot from modified Startup disk.

2.5 CD-W28PU starts installation of WindowsME as a recovery CD-ROM.

3. Windows2000 installation with CD-W28PU

Create Start up disks as follows:

- use four formatted floppy disks and start "makeboot.exe" in folder "Bootdisk" of your Windows2000 CD
- open "TXTSETUP.SIF" from the first boot disk with a standard text editor (like notepad)
- use "CTRL" + "F" with parameter "0644" to search for the line USB\VID_0644&PID_0000 = "usbstor"
- add a line USB\VID_0644&PID_1002 = "usbstor" under the line mentioned above
- save the file to the disk

To run recovery with CD-W28PU and Windows2000 Start disks modify BIOS setup to "boot from CD-ROM" or "boot from USB"
Important notice: Please do not use a Hub for OS installation from CD-W28PU!

4. WindowsXP installation with CD-W28PU

To create the WindowsXP Start up disks you need to download the respective software from: 

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=33290 for Home Edition (english) and

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=33291 for Professional Edition (english)

Please replace "TXTSETUP.SI_" on the first Start up disk with "TXTSETUP.SIF" from WindowsXP CD from "I386" folder and modify the "TXTSETUP.SIF" as mentioned in the instructions for Windows2000.

1. Installation von Windows98SE mit CD-W28PU
1.1 Erstellen Sie eine Windows98SE Startdiskette (Start/Einstellungen/Systemsteuerung/Software/Startdiskette).

1.2 Ändern Sie die Config.sys auf der Startdiskette wiefolgt:

1.3 Kopieren Sie den Treiber usb0000.sys (von TEAC mitgeliefert) auf die Startdiskette.

1.4 Schliessen Sie das CD-W28PU an den Rechner an und starten Sie von der modifizierten Startdiskette.

1.5 Sie können jetzt mit dem CD-W28PU und der Windows98SE CD-ROM Windows wiederherstellen/neu installieren.

2. Installation von WindowsME mit CD-W28PU

2.3 Kopieren Sie den Treiber usb0000.sys (von TEAC mitgeliefert) auf die Startdiskette.

2.4 Schliessen Sie das CD-W28PU an den Rechner an und starten Sie von der modifizierten Startdiskette.

2.5 Sie können jetzt mit dem CD-W28PU und der WindowsME CD-ROM Windows wiederherstellen/neu installieren.

3. Installation von Windows2000 mit CD-W28PU

Erstellen Sie die Startdisketten wiefolgt:

- Halten Sie vier formatierte Disketten bereit und starten Sie "makeboot.exe" im Ordner "Bootdisk" auf der Windows2000 CD
- Öffnen Sie auf der ersten Diskette die Datei "TXTSETUP.SIF" mit einem Standard Texteditor (z.B. Notepad)
- Suchen Sie mit "Strg" + "F" und dem Suchbegriff "0644" die Zeile USB\VID_0644&PID_0000 = "usbstor"
- Fügen Sie darunter die Zeile USB\VID_0644&PID_1002 = "usbstor" hinzu
- Speichern Sie die Datei auf der Diskette

Um die Wiederherstellung von Windows2000 mit dem CD-W28PU zu starten muss ggf. im BIOS Setup "boot from CD-ROM" oder "boot from USB" eingestellt werden.
Wichtig: Bitte benutzen Sie für die Wiederherstellung keinen USB-Hub zum Anschluss des CD-W28PU!

4. Installation von WindowsXP mit CD-W28PU

Für das Erstellen der WindowsXP Startdisketten benötigen Sie zunächst die entsprechende Software von Microsoft:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=33293 für die Home Edition (deutsch) und

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=33294 für die Professional Edition (deutsch)

Bitte ersetzen Sie die Datei "TXTSETUP.SI_" auf der ersten Startdiskette mit der Datei "TXTSETUP.SIF" von der WindowsXP CD aus dem Ordner "I386" und modifizieren Sie diese wie in der Anleitung für Windows2000 beschrieben.
