	  Technical Features
	**********************************************************

	Print Quality:
You can specify four print qualities, e.g. greyscale, Monochrome-High,
	Monochrome-Medium, Monochrome-Low.
The greyscale setting allows 256 greyscale printing with Canon Dither halftoning
for all drawings. You can achieve the best quality for pure greyscale output,
especially in coloured text and photographic images.
The monochrome setting allows you the monochrome (B/W) printing with three resolutions
similar output to the Canon CaPSL III printers.

	Memory Mode:
You can specify four memory modes and it allows the printer to reserve printer memory
	for your processing cemplex data.
This is very important in order to ensure proper printing operation, so you can achieve
the best 600 dpi quality and performance for your printing data.
The full-paint mode allows the printer to reserve a whole page memory at 600 dpi, then
it guarantee 600 dpi printing for your large and complicated data.
The partial-paint mode allowsthe printer to reserve a small memory, then it prints
at 600 dpi as much as possible.

	Graphics Mode:
You can specify two graphics modes, e.g. Vector and Bitmap.
The vector mode allows you to print your graphics data using Vector Graphics commands,
then print faster for your Windows applications.

	Refinement:
The printer automatically senses jagged edges and stair-stepping curves of characters,
graphics, and smoothes them out so they look sharper and crisper when they print.

	First priority to MP Tray:
You can take advantage of this feature by setting a sheet of letterhead in MP Tray
and allowing it to feed first and print as the first page of a letter.
When MP Tray becomes empty after the letterhead sheet is fed, the printer automatically
switches to the main paper feed source to print the remaining pages of the letter.

	Custom Paper Size:
You can create your custom paper size in the 'Papers' menu.

	Overlay Manager:
n the 'Overlays' menu, you can create and handle overlays.
This makes it possible, for e.g. including company logos, forms and other overlays
on pages of the currently printing document.

	  Release Notes & User Hints
	**********************************************************
	As of 13.11.1995:

	1. Graphics Printing Performance.
The graphics printing performance, especially in Corel Draw, depends on your print job.
That is, if your print job includes very large and complicated graphics data or you are using
fountain-fill function like a gradation in your print job, there is a marked lowering in graphics
	printing performance.
To encounter this performance problem, we recommend that you change the Graphics Mode to
'Bitmap Mode' in the Options dialog of your CaPSL printer driver and try to print it again.

	2. Graphics images with banding stripes on Monochrome-High Printing.
When you print a graphic image at Monochrome-High (600 x 600 dpi) on your printer,
you sometimes may have it with many banding stripes.
This problem occurs when your printer does not have enough memory for 600 dpi
	printing.
To avoid this problem, we recommend that you change the Print Quality 'Greyscale' or 'Monochrome-Medium'
in Main dialog of your CaPSL printer driver and try to print again.
Or you install at least 4MB of expansion memory in your printer and you set to 'Full Paint' (Memory Mode)
in Option dialog of your printer driver, and try to print at Monochrome-High again.

	3. Print graphic images or vector graphics in front of TrueType fonts.
In some cases the printed fonts may not match the fonts you see on your screen, especially in PageMaker5
when you want to print graphic images or vector graphics over text of TrueType font such that only
the exposed portion of a character is printed.
To avoid this, we recommend you to set 'TrueType as graphics'.

	4. LineArt Image on Greyscale mode.
When you print the LineArt image on Greyscale Mode, the thin-lines may not print correctly or missing.
This problem is caused by Dithering method on the printer.
To avoid this, we recommend to set 'Monochrome-High' mode.
