Screen Software for DOS & Windows 3.1 on your computer. Once you
have installed this software, you may use the full touch screen
capabilities of your Dynapro NFI Touch Screen Controller. Some of
these features are Microsoft Mouse emulation, keyboard emulation
(TouchSurround) and software configuration. See your User's
Reference manual for more information.

DISKETTE CONTENTS
-----------------

This disk contains the following files:

    INSTALL.EXE (Installation utility)
    INSTALL.DAT (Installation script)
    DISK.ID (Disk identification)
    NFI.RED (Compressed Touch Screen software)
    README.TXT (This file)

INSTALLATION
------------

The installation automatically determines whether to install the
software for DOS-only or for DOS & Windows. If you have Windows 3.x
on your computer then both DOS & Windows drivers will be installed
otherwise only the DOS drivers will be installed.

To install the software onto your computer, run the INSTALL utility
contained on this diskette. Assuming the diskette is located in
drive A: and only DOS is running; type the following at the DOS
prompt and press <Enter>:

    A:INSTALL

The INSTALL utility may also be run from the Windows Program Manager
by selecting "Run" from the "File" menu and typing the same command.

The INSTALL utility asks you to specify which disk to install to
and on which communication port your Touch Screen Controller is
connected. Once you have made your selections, the INSTALL utility
decompresses the software onto your target disk. You can exit at
any time by pressing the ESC key.

NOTE: An entry to load the touch screen driver (EMOUSE) is appended
to the end of AUTOEXEC.BAT. Please ensure that the touch
screen driver is invoked before a any call that may not return
control to AUTOEXEC.BAT (this includes calls that load Windows).

The following files are placed in the \TOUCH\DOS directory:

    ECAL.EXE (Touch screen alignment utility)
    EMOUSE.COM (Mouse Emulation software)
    ETS.EXE (Touch Screen Driver)
    EMOPT.EXE (EMOUSE options auxiliary program)
    SURROUND.EXE (TouchSurround button definition utility)
    XBNFI.EXE (Touch Screen hardware Driver)
NSD.EXE (NFI Setup and Diagnostic Utility)
    OSL.EXE (?)
    UNINSTAL.EXE (uninstall utility)
    INSTALL.DAT (uninstallation script)

and the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files modified accordingly.

The following files are placed in the \WINDOWS directory:

    TOUCH.INI (Default Initialization File)
    SYSTEM\
        EMOUSE.DRV (Windows Mouse Emulation Driver)
        ETS.DLL (Windows Touch Screen Driver)
        VMD.386 (Virtual Mouse Driver)

The following files are placed in the \TOUCH\WIN directory:

    QWERTY.EXE (Popup Keyboard Utility)

Your SYSTEM.INI file will be modified to load the mouse driver
EMOUSE.DRV and the virtual mouse driver VMD.386.

When the installation is complete, please remove the installation
diskette from the floppy drive and reboot your computer.

NOTE: the Touch Screen software is installed with configuration
parameters set according to the default configuration. You
should not need to change them. However, if you want to
customize your setup, please consult your User's Reference.

ALIGNING THE TOUCH SCREEN
----------------------------

Before you can use the touch screen it must be aligned.
Alignment ensures the touch screen is oriented and aligned with
your display. This is especially important when using CRT displays
as the size of the video display varies with the video adapter card
and the current video mode.

NOTE: The following alignment subsections do not apply to DYNAPRO
displays with factory installed NFI touch screens. These products
are aligned at the factory and need NOT ever be aligned again.

There are utilities to align the touch screen in either DOS or
Windows. In either case the utilities prompt you to touch alignment
points on the display and then they save the data. Each time you
reboot your computer, this data is automatically read by the touch
screen driver, and used to adjust the touch screen coordinates for
proper cursor tracking.

Aligning in DOS
------------------
Enter the following command at the DOS prompt:

   ECAL

NOTE: There are several options for the ECAL utility. To view the
list of options, type ECAL /?

Aligning in Windows
----------------------
Use the "Alignment..." button of the Touch Screen configuration
utility which is located in the Control Panel.

CONCURRENT MOUSE AND TOUCH SCREEN OPERATION
-------------------------------------------

The Touch Screen Software supports the concurrent mouse and touch
screen operation. To enable this feature (in either DOS or Windows
FULL SCREEN DOS sessions), ensure your mouse driver is loaded before
EMOUSE.COM is loaded by AUTOEXEC.BAT.

UNINSTALLING THE TOUCH SCREEN DRIVER SOFTWARE
---------------------------------------------

There is uninstall utility placed in your Touch Screen directory
(e.g. C:\TOUCH\DOS\UNINSTAL.EXE). Go to Touch Screen directory
(e.g. C:\TOUCH\DOS) and type "uninstal". This utility will:

Remove from CONFIG.SYS & AUTOEXEC.BAT any lines which reference
XBNFI.EXE, ETS.EXE or EMOUSE.COM. It will erase all files from your
TOUCH/DOS and TOUCH/WIN directory, and appropriate files from your
WINDOWS directory.

When the uninstallation is complete, please remove any
diskette from the floppy drive and reboot your computer.
