MSG LED ------- 1) Blinks red for any new fax messages received. 2) Blinks green for any new voice messages received. 3) Steady amber when all messages have been retrieved or checked. The steady amber state is intended to warn the user that portions of the memory are being used by messages already retrieved or checked. IMPORTANT : An unsuccessful call will ALSO turn the MSG led to amber even if the memory of the modem seems empty. The type of unsuccessful calls can be : - The calling party hung up during the welcome message. - A fax call was received while your modem was configured for Voice only mode - A voice call was received while your modem was configured for fax only mode These events use a small amount of memory each time they occur and therefore turn the MSG led to amber. Generally, you cannot retrieve these « false » messages. To turn the MSG led off, simply erase the modem’s memory using your supplied software application or via the DEL button. Manual reception of fax ----------------------- When the modem is in self-mode, you can now start a fax reception by depressing the STOP/PLAY button for 2 seconds. For this function to operate, the call will need to be answered in speakerphone mode (with the SPKR button) or via the attached handset.
