	ADVANCD CD-ROM Driver
	=====================
ADVANCD.SYS is a Ggeneric CD-ROM driver for DOS/WINDOWS operating system.

For automatic installations, issue the following commands

DOS 

a:\install

WINDOWS 3.1 and Windows for Workgroup 3.11

run a:\dos\setup

The above programs will automatically insert these statements

DEVICE=C:\path\ADVANCD.SYS 
 
in CONFIG.SYS and

MSCDEX.EXE /D:ADVCD0

in AUTOEXEC.BAT

The ADVANCD.SYS will accept the /P, /L and /D:name parameters.

while

/P 
Pause after driver load.

/L
Specifies that ADAVNCD should scan for logical units.  (By 
default, logical units are not scanned)

/D:name    
Specifies the device name given the driver in your CONFIG.SYS 
file for use with your CD-ROM interface software.  (The 
default device name is ADVCD0, which will apply to all 
connected CD-ROM drives.)

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
