INSTALLATION

a.COM port or Plug & play selection

Before you install your internal modem card into your personal computer you
can select a suitable COM port or plug & play to select COM port automatically.
Make certain that no other interface cards in your computer use the same COM
port. For example, if you have a RS-232 card in your computer that supports
both COM1 and COM2 then you should not choose these COM ports for your
Fax/Data Modem card. You may use either COM3 or COM4 only. Most Fax/Data
Modem software can support all four COM ports in your Fax/Data Modem card.
However, some software will only support COM1 or COM2. Check your software
manual to find out which COM port can used.

I.If you use jumper setting to select COM port, the internal modem card
support 4 interrupts, those are IRQ3, IRQ4, IRQ5 and IRQ7. You can choice
the interrupt which you want to combine with I/O address.

COM port's I/O address and interrupt switch setting as follow :

				Jumper setting
	COM port number I/O address S1	JP4-JP6	JP8
	COM1 3F8-3FF 2, 4 ON	1, 2 ON	OFF
	COM2 2F8-2FF 2, 6 ON	1, 2 ON	OFF
	COM3 3E8-3EF 1, 4 ON	1, 2 ON	OFF
	COM4 2E8-2EF 1, 6 ON	1, 2 ON	OFF

	Interrupt assignment Jumper S1 setting
	IRQ3 5 ON
	IRQ4 3 ON
	IRQ5 7 ON
	IRQ7 8 ON

Normally the interrupt and I/O address assign for each COM port as following
: Figure 1-2 shows the jumper setting for each COM port.

COM port number	Interrupt assignment	I/O address
	COM1 IRQ4 3F8-3FF
	COM2 IRQ3 2F8-2FF
	COM3 IRQ4 3E8-3EF
	COM4 IRQ3 2E8-2EF

	Default setting :

									Jumper setting
COM port NO.	I/O address	Interrupt NO.	S1 JP4-JP6	JP8
	COM2 2F8-2FF IRQ3 2, 5, 6 ON	1, 2 ON	OFF

II.If you use plug & play for automatic COM port setting, the internal Modem
card jumper setting are as following:

	Jumper setting S1 JP4-JP6 JP8
			Don't care	2,3 ON ON

We also support software to install Modem under Windows '95. You can install
in Windows '95 step by step:

1.Double-click 'My Computer' icon.
2.Double-click 'Control Panel' icon.
3.Double-click 'Modems' icon.
4.Click 'Add...' button.
5.Answer 'Other' to the question 'What type of Modem you are installing?' and
  click 'Next' button.
6.Click the box 'Don't detect my Modem; I will select it from a list.' and
  click 'Next' button.
7.Click 'Save disk...' button and insert INF file for Windows '95 drivers'
disk into drive A or B. You can also select alternative source for the
separate driver file (.inf) by clicking 'Browse...' button.
8.Select the correct model from the list and click 'Next' button.
9.Select the port where Modem is connected and click 'Next' button. Windows
'95 will load correct drivers to hard disk and informs that installation is
  completed. Click 'Finish' button.

If you want to check that installation was successful and Modem is
functional, select 'Diagnostic' from the window 'Modems Properties'. Select
a correct port and click 'More Information' button. 'More Info...' shows
Modem's response to ATI-commands and port setting. If response are empty or
program can't find a Modem, check the Modem's functionality again.

This is the first time to install INF file. When you remove the driver in
Windows '95 and re-insert Modem, you don't need to re-install. You can select
Modem directly from the manufacture list in Windows '95.
