Installation under Windows 95 (OSR 2) and Windows 98

! Since the miroHISCORE and miroHISCORE² installations are
! nearly identical, we are naming them both miroHISCORE²
! in the following chapters.

1. If you never had a 3Dfx Voodoo or Voodoo² board installed in
your system, switch directly to 2. .
Start your miroHISCORE² installation CD via autorun or launch
Autorun.exe from the CD. First use the menu entry "Check driver!"
to delete all old Voodoo stuff (drivers, inf files and registry
entries) from your system, which would cause problems with the
installation of the new miroHISCORE² drivers.
Reboot your machine now.
2. After starting Windows 9x (with your installed miroHISCORE² board)
the automatic hardware detection will find a new PCI multimedia
device and shows you the 'Update driver wizard' dialog.
3. Insert your miroHISCORE² 3D installation CD into your CDROM
drive and click on the button [next].
Windows 98: Choose again [next].
Mark the CDROM option and go on with [next].
4. Windows starts now to search for drivers on the local drives of
your system and shows a miroHISCORE² 3D driver on your CDROM.
Select the [Finish] button.
5. You are asked to insert the disk named 'Drivers for miroHISCORE &
miroHISCORE² 3D Accelerator'.
Confirm with [OK].
Windows tells you that it failed to find a neccessary file (3dfx.dll).
Select the [Browse...] button and go into the "Win95" directory under
the drive letter of your miroHISCORE² 3D installation CD.
Confirm with [OK].
6. Windows copies all driver files to the harddisk.
Finally you have to restart Windows.
7. Start your miroHISCORE² installation CD via autorun or launch
Autorun.exe from the CD before installing the hardware.
Run "Install Microsoft DirectX 5.2a" from the CD installer, if
you have not already DirectX 5 installed on your Windows 95 system.
Windows 98 users do not need to install DirectX 5, since the
operating system installation already did so.
8. In order to install the configuration software for your miroHISCORE² 3D
board, choose "Install miroHISCORE² 3D utilities".
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
