                 MM MDP3858-U Data+Fax Modem Card Ver 1.10


   Installation on  Win 95 Platform
   ================================
   1.   Win95 will automatically detect the MDP3858 PnP Modem Card 
        and displays the "New Hardware Found" dialog box.

   2.   Insert the installation diskette provided into either drive
        A or B.
   
   3.   Select the "Driver from disk provided by Hardware manufacturer
        option and click OK.

   4.   Type A:\ (or B:\) in the combo box and click OK.


   You might encounter some resource conflicts after loading the PnP modem
   device (especially when there are non-Plug & Play adaptors installed in
   your system). To alter the resource configurations, go to Control Panel
   - System - Device Manager and click on "Modem". Choose the modem device
   and click on "Properties". You can change the settings for both comport.

   For further details, please refer to Trouble-shooting section in Windows 95.


   Installation on  Win 95/OSR2 Platform
   =====================================
   1.   Win95 will automatically detect the MDP3858 PnP Modem Card after
        which the system will prompt the "Update Device Driver Wizard"
        dialog box.

   2.   Insert the installation diskette provided into either drive
        A or B.

   3.   Click "Next" to let system search for an updated driver.

   4.   Click "Finish" to use the found driver.
   
   5.   Click "Ok" when prompted to insert the installation disk. 

   6.   Change path to A:\ (or B:\) and click OK.

   7.   System will then automatically load all the necessary drivers and
        files needed.


   You might encounter some resource conflicts after loading the PnP 
   modem device (especially when there are non-Plug & Play adaptors installed
   in your system). Please refer to Trouble-shooting section in Windows 95 for 
   further details.


   DOS Box Support
   ===============
   To activate the DOS Box support, please go to System Properties/Device
   Manager/Modem/MDP3858-U Modem Properties. Select the DOS support tab and
   check the "Enable DOS Box Support" checkbox. Reboot the system for it to
   take effect.

   * Note *
   Should you encounter any problem with the DOS Box, you can try setting your
   COM Ports in your CMOS to COM2 and COM4. This is because the PCI Modem will
   try to emulate COM1 and IRQ 4 for DOS Box support.


   Modem AT Command Set
   ====================
   The AT Command Instructions Set for the Modem hardware is now available 
   in Microsoft Word format (ATCOMSET.DOC). It is available in the software 
   diskette provided from manufacturer.  



   Things to Note :-
   =================
   1.  MDP3858-U can be set up on both WIN95 and WIN95(OSR2) but no support
       on WIN3.x and DOS platform.

   2.  Voice and SpeakerPhone are not supported.

   3.  "Disconnect a call if idle" feature is not supported.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
