   PSC602 Driver Installation Instructions
   =======================================

   You may want to print this file before initiating the install.

1. Download the appropriate Self-Extracting exe file to a location
   (folder or desktop) on your computer. Be sure to remember this
   location for use during the install process. See below for info
   about which driver file to download.

	PSC602_DOS_ENG_Vxxx.exe	for Windows DOS
	PSC602_W95_ENG_Vxxx.exe for Windows 95OSR2
	PSC602_W98_ENG_Vxxx.exe for Windows 98
	PSC602_WSE_ENG_Vxxx.exe for Windows 98SE
	PSC602_WME_ENG_Vxxx.exe for Windows ME
	PSC602_WNT_ENG_Vxxx.exe for Windows NT4.0
	PSC602_W2K_ENG_Vxxx.exe for Windows 2000
	PSC602_WXP_ENG_Vxxx.exe for Windows XP

2. Locate and double click the self-extracting exe file you just
   downloaded. The WinZip Self-Extractor application will open.

3. Click on "Unzip" in the WinZip Self-Extractor pop-up window.

   NOTE:
   The PSC driver files will be extracted and copied to a default
   folder, the folder will be named "C:\PSC602_XXX_ENG_VXXX"

   Where: XXX = DOS or W95 or W98 or WSE or WME or WNT or W2K or WXP
	  VXXX = Driver Version #

   If desired, you can designate a different folder by clicking on
   "Browse" and selecting the desired folder. (Philips recommends
   using the default folder.)

4. After extracting the driver files close the WinZip Self-Extractor
   application.

5. Uninstall all audio drivers currently installed. Use the Windows
   Add/Remove Programs to remove Philips PSC602 Audio Driver from the
   PC system.

   IMPORTANT NOTE:
   If you have an audio device built into your motherboard you must
   disable it in BIOS. There may be 1 - 3 items in BIOS that must
   be disabled. Additionally there may be jumpers on the mother-
   board that have to be set to fully disable the on-board sound
   hardware.
   Refer to your Motherboard documentation and or the board
   manufacture for assistance.

   Reboot your computer.

   During the reboot process the Philips Sound Card will be
   recognized, this will start the PSC driver installation process.

7. Use the Browse button to point the Add "New Hardware Wizard" to
   the location of the driver files:
   I.E. C:\PSC602_XXX_ENG_VXXX\Drivers\WINXX. If you extracted the
   PSC driver files to a folder other than the default folder,
   point to that location by using the Browse button.

   NOTE:
   Another method for installing the driver is to cancel the
   "New Hardware Found" Wizard then go to the folder that contains
   the extracted driver set and double click on the setup.exe program.
   This method will somewhat automate the install process, just follow
   the simple instructions to complete the process.

8. Your installation is finished. It is recommended that you retain the
   extracted file structure. This structure contains files that are
   required for uninstalling the PSC602 driver set.
