[2] Supplements
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  [2-1] About DV format

In the DV format, the video signal(one luminance and two color-difference
signals) are encoded based on the international studio standard,
      ITU-R Rec.601.
Each component (luminance or color-difference) is uniformly quantized
in 8-bit binary encoding and the range 0 to 255 is available.

However, to provide working margins, each component only occupies
      the following levels:

          Luminance (Y): 16 (black) - 235 (white)
          Color-difference (CR/CB): 16 - 240 (center level: 128)

  [2-2] About the captured image

In some DV equipment, the captured image may have black stripe or noise in
      the right and left side.

This is the reason why the number of effective pixels in the horizontal direction
on the DV equipment is less than 720 pixels that is specified in the DV format.
This black stripe or noise does not result from the capture board and the application
      software.

  [2-3] Interval of auto capturing

The minimum interval of auto capturing depends on your system, especially
      the performance of hard disk.

To improve disk performance, use a defragmenting utility to optimize and
defragment your hard disk as often as necessary.
Recording to a fragmented disk could reduce the capture frame rate.
A fragmented disk will also cause opening and saving files to take longer.

[2-4] Accuracy of searching the tape position

The accuracy of searching the tape position of the selected image depends on
      your DV equipment.
In some DV equipment, the error of searching is about 4 seconds maximum.

[2-5] Compatibility between the file created with DVBK-1000 and DVBK-2000

The image file (extension .dvf) created with DVBK-1000 is compatible with the one
      created by DVBK-2000/2000E.

The album file (extension .dva) created with DVBK-1000 can be imported to DVBK-2000
      application software.
When the album file created with DVBK-1000 is imported, the file format is converted
      for DVBK-2000 automatically.

The album file created with DVBK-2000 cannot be imported to DVBK-1000 application
      software.
