Hi all, thanks for responding. First off I want to thank Tony at texhoma.net for giving me the idea to actually try a Diamond Supra 56 inf file to see what would happen. IT FAILED BADLY, connected at 1.2k. But it wasn't a total failure because that Diamond beta inf file combined with the latest generic Rockwell inf gave me what I needed to get V.90 into my ISP's 3Com Quad Modem X2/V.90 modems which I couldn't get before. So THANK YOU TONY!! Gary, Mr. A--hole, you pissed me off enough to take a few hours to attempt this experiment for that I want to thank you as well. Anyway, I cannot guarantee that these files will fix your problem as they did mine. All you can do is try them and see :) I've combined the newest Diamond files with the Rockwell files (Diamond had a few newer files and those are what actually did the trick) in this zipped package. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my modem and inf files 5 times with this file to make sure it works, it does for me. The Rockwell files by themselves wouldn't do it either, it took the combo. I'll give you the instructions on what to do, the steps I TOOK to make it work. 1) Unzip this file to a new folder 2) Go into you modem file and search for your inf unistall program (their is one in this zip you can try), Run it to remove ALL inf's that pertain to your current modem. It should remove your modem as well. 3) Go into the control panel and check to make sure you no longer show a modem installed, (modem icon and system devices). 4) Reboot your system and let Win95 Plug and Pray work it's magic. 5) When asked for your installation disk (and it will if your removed all traces of your old modem), browse to the folder you unzipped to. 6) VERY IMPORTANT, while win95 does it work with the unzipped files MAKE SURE THAT IT SAYS ITS INSTALLING "ROCKWELL HCF XXXXXX" AND NOT SOME OTHER NAME. IT MUST SAY ROCKWELL OR IT WILL NOT WORK. If it shows another name, start over and do it again UNTIL IT DOES. 7) After win95 does it job go back into the control panel and click your modem icon and make sure it says "Rockwell HCF 56K Speakerphone PCI Modem", then go into system/devices and check to see if it shows a HCFMODEM and check that for "Rockwell PCI Modem Enumerator", click on it and then click properties then driver, date should be 10-30-98, click ok and then check your Modem same as you did the HCFMODEM, click "Rockwell HCF 56K Speakerphone PCI Modem" and click the properties then driver, date should be 11-2-98. 8) If above looks good, try signing onto your isp and give it a whirl, mine sound allot like V.34 connection but with an extended handshake. Hopefully you'll get your V.90 connection. 9) EMAIL ME BACK AND LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES!!! It worked for me and I hope it'll work for you so if I can be of further assistance let me know. I'm not very good at walking people through win95 ( If this is basic to you, I apologize. Tony & Michael dig on this and see if you can pick it apart to work out the glitches on install, we'd be doing ton's of people a favor is we can work these problems out. I'm by no means an expert on this!!! Just got lucky. Thanks and good luck :) Van Tully KB9SCZ FCC Licensed Amateur Radio Operator VanT@powernetonline.comDownload Driver Pack
