Release Note

Adding mdm3485.inf to support SQ3485 voice modem.  Please test MCT29,

(1) change "DATE=" response message for caller ID return.
(2) enable CallerIDPrivate and CallerIDOutside keys with P and O. 
(3) enable layout key in mdmsier.inf. 
(4) add "<cr><lf>#VDT<cr><lf>" response message.

(1) Fixed music on hold. This required new mdmsier.inf, unimdm.tsp and 
    firmware ver. 2.45d+.
(2) Get more time for speakerphone training, need spktrn32.dll updated.

(1) SpeakphoneTaps is saved in registry properly and download to 
DSP everytime when speakphone is activated.

(1) Enhance UART rate. (V2.44A4+ firmware required.)

(1) Hang-up problem in speakerphone mode. (Originate.)
(2) FAX CNG detection when voice answer mode. 
(3) INF file has been modified to support "Sierra PNP SQ3645" only. 

UPDATE INF From Old "inf" Files
===============================

(1) change directory to c:\windows\inf.
(2) delete mdmsier.inf, mdsiervw.inf, siervoic.inf (if they existed)
(3) delete oem?.inf whose manufacture is Sierra.

Set-up to use MSPhone with old mdmsier.inf
==========================================

(1) Make sure you have installed modem first and MS phone, ignore warning
    message when you installe MS Phone.
(2) Copy *.inf to \windows\inf
(3) Copy *.vxd, *.dll, *.drv, *.tsp, *.cpl to \windows\system
(4) Open Control Panel, System icon, device manager, 
    Select Modem - Sierra's 28800 modem, click 'remove' button,
    Select ModemVoice - Sierra's voice, click 'remove' button
(5) In device manager, click 'Refresh',  to rebuild registry for modem
(6) Open Control Panel, Modems icon, select Sierra's modem, click 'properities,
    click, SpeakerPhone, click Train Now, in order to train speakerphone. 
(7) You should be able to start MS phone. 
    
Watch Out:

* If you install MS phone after you copy all Unimodem V components, MS phone
  setup will overwrite some componts.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
