I. OVERVIEW:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
This README file pertains to the current release of the firmware flash
file for the Lexmark C53x series of network printers.
Package file: C53x.zip
Flash file name: NSNPN019.ffs

Release date: Jan 3, 2007
NOTE: The flash file extension, .ffs, is used by the various utilities
to distinguish between the various flash file types. The file
extension must not be changed.
II. KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF THE RELEASE:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
1) Adjusted DST begin and end dates for AST, EST, CST, MST, PST,
Alaska, and Newfoundland time zones to comply with 2007 DST
changes.
2) Fixed a problem that could occur with SNMP after a soft reset
3) Corrected an issue with SNMP OID for PRTGENSTATUSSRVCREQD. Now
that OID will always correctly be set to TRUE when an IR occurs.
III. LIMITATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY OF THE RELEASE:::::::::::::::::::::::::
One of the following methods is required to update the network Adapter
with this release of firmware flash:
1) The embedded web server can be used to update the firmware:
1. Enter the IP address of the adapter into the address field in
your web browser.
2. Click the 'Configuration' button.
3. Select the 'Update Print Server Firmware' link near the bottom
of the page.
4. Enter the filename or use the 'Browse' button to locate the
updated flash file.
5. Click the 'Flash' button to begin the flashing process.
2) The flash file can also be sent down to the adapter via TFTP with a
binary transfer. In the following examples the flash file is
located in the C:\inaflash\ directory.
NT server example:
C:\tftp -i 157.184.29.84 PUT C:\inaflash\filename.ffs /dev/flash

3) MarkVision Professional 7.1 or greater
1. Select the printer in the list that you would like to update in
the folder contents view.
2. Select the adapter and then choose the 'All Tasks' pulldown menu.
3. Select 'Firmware download (printserver)'
4. Click the 'New File' button and browse for the updated flash
file.
5. Click the 'Start' button to begin the flash update.

The Lexmark Network Printer Utility, MarkVision, and the MarkNet family
of network adapters are supported by Lexmark. For technical assistance

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
