Windows 9X additional drivers on Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server x86 or x64: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- To install Windows 95, 98 or Millenium additional drivers you will first need to locate the original Windows 95, 98 or Millenium original driver that shipped with your printer, or that you can download from our Internet Web site. You will then need to manually decompress the folloWing Windows system files from the original Windows 95, 98 or Millenium CD-ROM: CAB file: DRIVER5.CAB ICONLIB.DLL PSMON.DLL CAB file: DRIVER6.CAB PSCRIPT.DRV PSCRIPT.HLP PSCRIPT.INI APPLE380.SPD FONTS.MFM CAB file: DRIVER7.CAB TESTPS.TXT Refer to the folloWing Microsoft Knowledge Base articles for detailled instructions: Q210645: Add Printer Wizard Cannot Extract Windows 95/98 Printer Drivers Q129605: Extract Original Compressed Windows Files After extraction, these files should be placed in the same directory as the Windows 95, 98 or Millenium original driver and you can proceed With installing these additional Windows 95, 98 or Millenium drivers. 2. Windows 2000 additional drivers on Windows XP/2003 Server/Vista x64: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Windows 2000 additional drivers can be installed on a Windows XP or 2003 Server x64 host, however User Will not be able to open the "Printer Properties" or the "Printing Preferences" from the "Printers" folder on the Client machine. User can configure "Printer properties" from any application, and "Printer Properties" or default "Printing Preferences" must be setup on the Host machine. 3. Windows XP/2003 Server/Vista x64 additional drivers on Windows XP/2003 Server/ Vista x86: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- To be able to install an Windows XP/2003 Server x64 additional drivers on a Windows XP or 2003 Server x86 host, Service Pack 1 or above is required on the Windows XP or 2003 Server x86 host. 4. x64 additional drivers on Windows Vista x86: -------------------------------------------- To install an x64 additional driver on a Windows Vista x86 host, you first need a running Vista x64 system. On this x64 system, locate the directory \Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ntprint.inf_xxxxx, then copy all files and sub-directories from ntprint.inf_xxxxx into the same location as you saved this driver. If the x86 host asks for the NTPRINT.INF on the Windows Media during the installation of the additional driver, simply browse to this location and complete installation. 5. x86 additional drivers on Windows Vista x64: -------------------------------------------- To install an x86 additional driver on a Windows Vista x64 host, you first need a running Vista x86 system. On this x86 system, locate the directory \Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ntprint.inf_xxxxx, then copy all files and sub-directories from ntprint.inf_xxxxx into the same location as you saved this driver. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
