Important Notes.

You must do the following update:
1.) Update Driver V2.0
2.) Update Firmware using Flash Utility


You have to remove the old driver and install the new 
driver again for best performace connection. Otherwise, 
V.90 result code can't be recognized by 
TAPI(Telephony Application Programming Interface). 
TAPI determines the features on your modem.

How to delete the old drivers and reinstall the modem.

1) Click on the start button, go to settings, choose Control
   Panel. Then double click the modem icon. Highlight the modem
   WS-5614JS3. Then click remove. Close the
   Modems Properties and the Control Panel.

2) To delete the old driver, click on Start again go to programs,
   then select Windows Explorer. In Windows Explorer, open the 
   Windows directory and look for the INF subdirectory. In the INF
   subdirectory there will be another subdirector named OTHER for OSR2.
   In there you will see several file. Highlight the file .
   MDMRSS, MicrosoftWave, or MirosoftWAVRSS and delete from your system.

3) Install the modem using the new drivers. 


YOU ARE NOW READY TO FLASH THE MODEM WITH THE NEW V.90 CODE.
Using Flash Utility Disk for Windows 95.
Run "Flashcom.exe" to start flashing to V.90 code.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
