                   NDIS Driver for Microsoft Windows 95

README.TXT              This file
OEMSETUP.INF            Device Information File for the Adapter.
PMXPE.VXD               Microsoft Windows 95 device driver.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

   1) Insert the Ethernet adapter into the PCMCIA slot. Windows 95 should  
      display the "New Hardware Found" dialog box.

   2) Select "Drivers from disk provided by hardware manufacturer".

   3) At the "Install From Disk" window, enter the drive letter and path 
      where the device information file (.INF file) and device driver can be 
      found, usualy A:\WIN95,  Click on the "OK" button. The installation
      process will then begin.

   4) Occasionally,  the installation script may ask for files from the
      Windows 95 distribution disks. Follow the prompt until the installation
      is complete.  

   5) Reboot the machine to start the network.

TROUBLESHOOTING

   1) If you have trouble logging into your network, click on "Your Computer",
      "Control Panel", "System". From the System Properties dialog box, select
      the "Device Manager" and "View devices by type". Select the PCMCIA
      Ethernet card under the Network Adapter branch, click on Properties and
      ensure that there are no resource conflicts (interrupt, i/o address and
      memory address) with other devices in your system.

   2) If there is a conflict, then you may be able to change some of the
      resources, by unchecking the "Use automatic settings" box, then clicking
      on the resource type to be modified.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
