SOFTWARE APPLICATION NOTES:
---------------------------
General:
If your application has a "Page Setup", or similarly named menu item, you should always take care when you use it to set a large paper size. The "Enable scaling" setting in the "Options" properties page may be selected. If so, the scaling effect could generate an error message which tells you that the scaled paper size is too large for your printer and that scaling will be disabled. However, in some extreme cases this error message will be repeated several times. After the final error message your drawing will be printed according to the "Page setup" settings and with the scaling setting disabled.

Micrografx Designer 4.1 users:
Rotated text may become invisible (same color as the background) when
printed or even on the screen.

Solution: Select it and change its color.

Software Publisher's Harvard Graphics users:
If you use gradient shading together with the driver's scaling feature, you may see solid black lines at color boundaries.

Solution: Use gradient fills which are not "exactly" vertical or horizontal.

Adobe Photoshop users:
Horizontal black bands may appear in your printed output.

Solution: Select the "Process in Computer" setting in the "Options" property page.

How is this printer attached to your computer?

   Select:
Local printer if the printer is connected to your computer by a cable running directly between them.

Network printer if the printer has a network option installed, such as "The HP JetDirect Network Interface", and you will use it to communicate with your printer.

Do you print from MS-DOS-based programs?

We recommend that you select No, select Yes only in the case where you have an MS-DOS driver which can print to a HP DesignJet series printer.

Would you like to print a test page?

We recommend that you select Yes.

By printing a test page you will test the communications link between your system and the printer.

4. At the end of the installation procedure you will see the Software Application Notes section of the driver's help system. You are recommended to read the sections which apply to the applications which you use, after which you can close the help file and you will be returned to the Windows' 95 "Add Printer Wizard" dialog box.
